Bill Stroud beats Joey Gray!
Bill Stroud is having a great tourney, just beat Joey Gray 9-8. I think he will be playing for the winners bracket soon, maybe not. He is certainly in the mix. Seems to be down to Shane Mcminn, Chip, Joey, John Gabriel and Caleb Moore, and of course the lovable Bill Stroud. Spoke with Bill numerous times this weekend and he is very cordial to all. Poor guy can't hardly play or practice without someone bending his ear. He used to live in Tulsa and says he really likes us Okies. Great tourney, no problems. Bill went for $40 in the Calcutta. We all dropped the ball on that one. LOL. He made two huge shots on the hill to beat Joey! Actually had a nice five ball runout but got out of line and had to come with big shots to win. Very dramatic. He led Joey most of the way. Joey tied it up several times and then Hill Hill.

Pretty sure Chip must have double dipped someone as Joey beat him earlier. Great guy and very personable. He must have watched videos of Tony Drago and Rodney Morris growing up cause that's how he plays! It was great to see James Walden getting back in action and Bill Stroud gives hope for all of us residents of Geezerville! Bill certainly not your average geezer! And some guy from Edmond by way of Dubai named Mo who went well into the winners bracket. Another $40 guy!?!?

The finals was one race to 13. From what I heard on the stream Chip and Shane chopped the tournament money but still played the match for the Auction money. I had to put the little one to bed, but when I stopped watching Chip was ahead 12-4 I believe.
The only payouts that I remember were 1st place, Tournament was $2100 and Auction was $3800.

Thanks Nat. Great fun, wish I'd gone further but heh at least we tried. Don't understand the guys that say they can't beat the big guns. Certainly can't beat em if you don't try! It's the regular joes that make these tournaments possible.

I agree. I won a few matches and hung with guys that in the past I wouldn't have been any competition for. Overall I was happy with the way that I played. But it also left me wanting to push myself harder. Just a couple missed shots to overcome!
