after a second thought i realize i titled this wrong. i apologized once and see no need to offer a 2nd one.

i will just state my opinion here. i made a post in the az cue of the year thread that some people took offense to. although i did not see where i really made any derogatory remarks in the 1st posts about the subject i made a 2nd post clarifying my oppinion. apparently my apology was not good enough.

i lurked on this site for quite a while before joining. i learned quite a lot of useful information. i joined so i would be able to interact with people and share my opinions and experience about anything pool related.

every time i make a comment or interact with any one on this site i try to do it in a respectful way. even going so far as to apologize if a post of mine is taken out of context, something that seems to happen a lot on the internet.

even after i made an apology and clarified my position on the subject some one refered to the bashing going on. i have never made any bashing comments on this site except to one poster who made disparaging comments toward me and others and was ultimately banned from this great forum. another poster went so far as to make another thread saying pictures only and no comments , the greats have spoken.

i too have drooled over many high end cues and have longed for the day i could afford one. i have visited the sites of new 2 you cues and cornerstone many times. i have also watched many of kevin brewers sales wishing i had the money to buy one.

maybe one day i will hit the lottery and become one of the great ones :D

Not sure you ever needed to apologize in the first place. I read the post in question and frankly, didn't see anything wrong with it at all. The problem arose when someone else jumped to the (wrong) conclusion with regards to the point you were making.

As far a people getting bent out of shape when you post, welcome to AZ. People around here seem to think the only type of posts that are allowed are those that mirror the sentiments of the original poster of a thread. And opinions are only welcome if their positive in nature and agreed upon by the majority.

Sad, but more often than not true.

I for one completely disagree...I don't know about what...I'm just going to go on the record and say that I disagree whole-heartedly!

There...that should clear things up considerably!!!

An old adage seems valid here:

Let me try to explain what happens when someone new joins a forum like AZB and gets attacked.

Social Scientists put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling. Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up. Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder. One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing the obvious, but, undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder. All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly.

He has no idea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder. A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him. This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he's not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he's attacking the new monkey.

One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced. Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None of them attempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why.

Unfortunately you are this week's new monkey...

Just thought it fit. Seems to me you are doing just fine. Don't let it get to you. It's just the internet.
