Tim Scruggs - The Early Years

I had Tim do this one in 1982. Yep, almost 30 years ago. Tim had been in business for himself for four years, and had Bob Frey building with him. The inspiration for the butt sleeve was actually a cue belonging to Bill "Weenie Beanie" Staton, which had a similar pattern. To my knowledge, this is the first cue Tim did with Bushka style rings in the joint collars. Enjoy!

Another Scruggs man.I forget but didn't Weenie play with a Scruggs too? I rember Timi telling something or other about Beanie's stick.
Great one,
Nick :)

Thank you. I think in the 70s Weenie played with a Joss with box inlays in the forearm, and a butt sleeve similar to the pictures. There was a big picture in Jack & Jill's in Virginia with him and the cue. But I think you're right, I remember Tim speaking of a cue he made for him later on that he played, probably in the 80s.

A true classic!

Very classy!

I love that double black/double maple veneer combo. You don't see it often, but when you do it really catches your eye. I love what he did with the single red veneer "Gun sight", too.

Awesome cue and thanks for sharing!
