Help Identifying Cue with a "J" on it

I am trying to figure out what cue this is. The only identifying mark I see on it is a J on the butt of the cue. It does not match any of the markers I see in the Blue Book of Pool Cues 3rd Edition. Searches in these forums is hard because it is a "J" - that letter appears in many posts.

Has anyone seen this before?

I don't think it is Stan Hawkins

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I check the Blue Book for Stan Hawkins it refers me to Black Hawk instead. It does not list a hook as one of logos or marks used.

Any other ideas?
 
I went through everything I have and got nowhere.

Can we see better pics? Maybe the joint? Rings? Might help......

It's possible that's not the maker's logo and it is something else. I doubt it, but it's possible.

It's a stumper for me at the moment.
 
A lot of ppl here could lead you in the right direction with some pics of the joint, ringwork, weightbolt under the bumper. The styles can sometimes be clues as to who might've made it.

Understood - The cue is two piece and the joint is shiny metal with no marks or names inside or outside.

The weight bolt is inside a hole under the bumper. Do I or can I remove that to get a picture of it?

Not positive, but I think you can just pull the bumper out and snap a pic up the butt cap. Also, try and get a pic of the joint together and apart so that we can see how it fits and asking what the pin looks like and what the joint on the shaft looks like. Try to get some good pics of any fancy rings arount the joint and handle if there are any. Maybe a pic of the butt cap with the bumper on as well. I'm sure others can help more than I, but this seems to be what everyone looks at. And if there are points on the forearm snap those too.

I don't think there is a weight bolt in this cue - isn't that weird? I did not notice that when I took off the butt cap before. I still do not see any identifying marks - but maybe that is a clue?

That's a JAZZ cue, cuemaker out of Arizona. My buddy has a cue with the exact same logo and he was friends with the cuemaker, i'll get you the cuemaker's full name tomorrow. If the J/hook logo on your cue looks like it was branded on, then it's the same maker.

With the holidays I have not checked back on this thread - thanks so much for the reply. (I did not see an email that it was updated)

The "J" or Hook marking definitely looks branded on. I will check when I get home but do you know if Jazz is in the Blue Book of Pool Cues, 3rd edition?
