WTB: a few Talisman pro/WB to try them out

im interested to try out these tips. domed if possible

2x talisman pro (hard)
2x talisman pro (medium)

2 talisman wb (hard)
2 talisman wb (medium)

If you are interested in those type of tip...give superpro a try...they are extremely hard, hold chalk and do not mushroom

I didnt have much luck with Talisman tips, they were very inconsistent
 
hi , superpro a little too hard for my liking, im looking for a tip in the 77 to 83 hardness, not harder than that.
 
My Super-Pro, have had very good luck and my customers

like them, on my Durometer A, they are at a 79.4 to 80.1 and all of my WB customers, love them and they are reasonably priced.

I've got a few varied Talisman tips that I'll never use. Pro & WB.

Same here, I think they're crap.. Very inconsistent and very few good ones made. They lose shape and feel too "rubbery" almost like it catches the cb instead of transferring the energy into it. That being said, I have few left, if you em you can have em.
 
wow okay, are you guys referring to the pigskin talismans or the WB ones for the inconsistency?

there is a world of difference between the pigskin and WB, and i'm leaning more towards WB.
 
I've tried them both, I'm very unhappy with all of them. I prefer a feel that the energy delivered is transferred to the cb and not caught with the cb. This allows for less effort with more results, this leaves more space for more spin if you need it and consistency which allows for more effectiveness.

That's just my preference, I have 22 years experience in this game and therefore have acquired a taste for certain things in this game. This is simply my opinion on those tips, you might actually do well with them though, I personally am very dissatisfied with them though.
 
okay. the only reason i was thinking of them is because i read somewhere that the schon proprietary tips play like the talisman WB.

but i wouldnt know, i havent tried.. my current schon with its original tip plays very good. but i'm looking to put other shafts so also new tips.

are the superpros similar to schon proprietary tips?

i've got most of a box of superpros left. they were way too hard and some of them seem like they're more glue than leather. i had 1 good one and the rest were too hard to play with. i use them for j/b tips now and they work fine for that. kamui black hard tips are easier to play with than superpros are
 
I couldn't tell you much about those... Layered tips are tough to find good ones, the best were H Moori, the old ones no newer than 2002-3 I'd say. The new ones are very inconsistent. I switched to the custom made Elk Master ("Milk Duds") around 13-14 years ago and never looked back. I get them from my cue maker as he has a great method and recipe for making them. They deliver exactly what is needed to transfer the energy provided, they're hard enough to keep shape with breaking and playing for several hours of play and they still grab the curb all very well and hold chalk excellent as well. They're inexpensive and perform amazing, but not all of them are made the same, I swear by the ones I use because I know the source very well. all of te great pros use them (ie. Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Rudolfo Luat, Corey Deuel) and that holds its own weight as is.
 
yep, i just bought some from pooldawg8 and i'll be testing them too , he makes great ones and they were tested by some people to be almost identical as the efren-type.

but the question I have in mind is, do these milk duds have a nice hard hit to them, or does it feel more spongy-soft, or in between? jeff told me they are hard by nature but have a soft hit, kind of difficult for me to imagine , although some of his customers said they hit medium to medium-hard. i guess it's just best to test it out myself, lol

I cannot vouch for the pool dawg type but the ones I buy are "Efren type" the recipe is a big secret but what I do know is these produce a crisp hit. It's firm like a hard tip but grabs the cb more than enough, like what you look for in a soft tip.. These are considered med/hard press tips. Try to get the hardness out of your head, because these tips are on the hard side, thats what allows them to be used for breaking and playing alike, they just possess everything you look for in a tip. They sometimes get a bad name because of theyre a single layer tip and come from a "cheap tip" but cost has nothing to do with performance. Therefore, I wouldnt play with anything else at this point and neither would the guys ive mentioned earlier.

I used to never play with a hard tip because I heard you must have pro caliber stroke to really utilize their qualities, well little did I know I possessed this stroke and was hurting my game playing with softer tips.
