On a GCII (orI?) ball return box-was the fitted cork covering the interior of the box covered with cloth during the first install?

The cloth is attached with a few staples and button headed tacks. The buttons are slightly smaller than an 'M&M' cut in half sideways. They have a thin shallow plastic dome, with layers of cardboard?fiber sandwiching the tack head within it. Are the tacks original? Was this to help protect the balls from damage?

Are they available somewhere?

Is a crafts store a place to look for 'padded' tacks and some felt to cover the cork? Or just glue it in place?

Mine has one set of staples in the felt covering the cork. Same color that I took off of the bed when I moved it.

Also-where can I find the little half-round-head tacks with the spiral shaft. For the box trim and the 'Brunswick label grill'. Were they shiny originally?

Thank you

I don't bother with the cork, I install black carpet instead, very quiet and lasts forever.
