13mm is the standard that new cues come with but I believe most people actually play with something under 13mm.
Personally I have used 12.5mm for a long time but over the last year or so I have been pushing myself up to 12.75mm.

I play with a 12.5. I believe with the growth of the low deflection market, you will get many more users of 12.75 than in the past, as 314's and OB shafts come in this size.

Personally I wish I could have a shaft each size, going from 13 mm to 11.5 dropping .25 for each step. But have a 12.9 and 12 right now.

My shaft is bigger than most. I like it's size and the feel I get when I stroke it. In fact, I think it's thick size is an advantage because it hit's it's target dead on. It used to be bent but it straightened out after having someone work on it. Now it's straight and I can put it anywhere I want.

Others have tried my shaft and they like to stroke it as well. Still others have expressed a wish that their shaft was as thick and nice as mine. However I tell them don't force it...I've been used to my thick shaft my whole life.

I find a 11.75 to a 12mm is perfect for me.I pot well with a larger tip but when I get on stroke with a smaller diameter tip I seem to feel like I have more variety of shots that I feel comfortable executing. My biggest tournament I ever won was in a big event here in Ontario and the shaft was a Predator 1st generation taken down less than a zshaft about a 11.5mm. With a big tip I find it much harder to gauge cut shots. Its all what you feel comfortable with and whatever shaft you choose it should always be a shaft that you feel compliments your style of play.

For me; 12.75 is perfect. I have a Scruggs Sneaky Pete with 12.50 that I like a lot and don't mind using. I have a couple cues with 13.0MM that I will use occasoionally; however, I would never use them as my main player.

13.0MM feels way too thick to me to use consistently. I love 12.75MM.

For me its 11.75 and Kamui Black soft for my player and 13 for my Breaker.
I wouldnt have it any other way.

It is interesting to see that although 13MM is the "standard" it is actually the lowest rated option in the poll, excluding other.
