I went to the SBE 2012. It is in a giant building that was a factory (I think).
It is large. The exhibitors were numerous.
I met Steve Lomax.
I talked with Chris Hightower and his equipment looks better than ever. He was busy selling a lathe while I was there. Good luck Chris.
I bought a set of sanding mandrels from Basel. (did I spell that right ... sorry if I didn't) I will review them in a few weeks.
I got a free Black King tip from Robert Wong. I will put it on my cue and tell you what I think.
I shook hands with Dennis Diekman. He is still fighting the VA. His beard was green. I think it was pool chalk. I am glad I downloaded his words of wisdom from his web site because it is no longer operating. The Vietnam war left scars.... some are not visible.
I talked with Kieth Josey. Nice cues.... nice guy.
I bought some cocobolo from Bell Forest. Nice stuff. I know who's cue that is for. I met Eric. He gets my special stuff and always comes through with exceptional wood.... ask for him when you call.
The food is a little expensive. I bought some fries that I think were left over from the 2011 SBE. My wife got a tuna wrap that was actually very good.
There was a bar but it was just too early and I had to drive on to Syracuse after the visit.
There were some guys playing 3 cushion............. wtf.... how the hell do they do that???
I am glad I went.....
check the pictures in my album.....
