whats the shot?

You may not have enough angle to bank it in that corner AND send the cueball around the table. Your shot is going to be a bit table-specific. If you're on new cloth that slides or slow cloth, you might not be able to get the cueball to move. If that's the case, in my opinion, it's not worth making the 8.

I would sooner bank it into the same corner I'm shooting out of. Still, the fact that I'm shooting from a place where cueing remains an issue still makes this terribly problematic. The precise location of the cueball makes a difference here. I'm going to need to cue-up just right and if I can't, that could change everything.
Well that's the bank I was referring too. I was typing as if I was behind the cue ball looking at the table. So the bank back to the bottom right would be the same corner the cue ball is hung in.

LOL, I see now. Yeah, that's not a bad shot. Part of why I like this shot is that most players are already a little familiar with it. The cueball is naturally heading for position on the 9 AND missing it doesn't necessarily mean you're selling out. If you under cut the bank, the 8 will head back up table. Assuming you've left the cue-ball straight in on the 9, your opponent will have some work to do.

Im just seeing a big red X, is anyone else seeing this or is it on my end?

I think it is terrorist attack:
