There follows an 'expert'' evaluation of the spillson cue and of spillson himself. Did he ever find out whether pfd does a ''spiral'' cut?

Fisrt off, no one has ever heard of the guy. That is the #1 problem. Second, the "prongs" look like they were cut with a 1/4" router bit. In other words the radius at the end is very large and makes it look like it is a cheap cue made in Taiwan. You pm'd me and told me to buy a cue not a maker even though I listed all top tier makers I was looking for. Top makers don't make cues with points that are big and round at the ends. They use high quality machines (CNC) or they do full splice or short splice and the ends of the points are very sharp. Even if they make a cue with CNC points, the radius is much, much smaller. Most people here know the difference between a well made cue and one that is not made so well.
Additionally, I'm guessing the white in the cue is NOT ivory or you would have mentioned it. If it's not ivory and it's that white, it's most likely plastic. $1500 is a LOT of money for a plastic cue by a maker no one has or will ever hear of.
I have been playing and buying/selling custom cues for over 20 years and I have a pretty good feel for the value of them. Honestly, the cue looks to be worth about $200-250.
Sorry if that seems a bit harsh but you did for feedback good or bad.
It seems that your crieria for quality in a cue is 'sharp points'. You can get 'sharp points' at WalMart. I clealy stated that the cue had 3 prongs, not points. You apparently dont know the difference. See my latest post on the w/s forum for pics of a prong cut. Can your 4000. cue maker do that? Foolishly you state that the cue is 'plastic'. I clearly stated the cue is ebony into holly. Holly is a white WOOD. Apparently you didn't know that.Sir, you have no credibility. I strongly suggest that in the future you refrain from publically expressing your 'expertise' in assessing the quality of cues as you arrogance is only exceeded by your ignorance. You have my permission to post this exchange on the ask AZ w/s forum. Rufus
I wasn't referring to a splice, I was talking about a prong and a point. Nice try. At least you are not talking plastic anymore.Bye.I missed the part that the white is Holly. Let me explain something to you. I clearly know the difference between a spice and a prong. It's obvious you don't though. A "splice" is how it was made or goes together and a "prong" is the triangular point that is the result. I have hundreds of hours logged at a top tier cuemaker's shop watching him and helping him make cues. I'm sorry to inform you but I have infinitely more knowledge than you on the subject. Hve you ever even spent more than 5 minutes in a cue makers shop? I doubt it.
Don't get your panties in a wad because I told it to you straight. You asked for opinions and I offered one. Why do you think the cue is still for sale? Because no one wants to buy a cue that looks like it was on the shelf at Walmart, thats why. Especially at your price.
I tried to tell you politely when you offered me the cue that I wasn't interested even though your initial statement "buy a cue, not a maker" insinuated that I had zero clue what I was looking for.
I didn't insult you and frankly I'm offended that you responed with a bunch of insults. I have an idea. Why don't you post the cue in the gallery section and ask everyone for their honest opinion of what it's worth.
Oh, and by the way genius, here is a link to my $4000 cue maker. 5, yes count them 5, full spliced prongs.

And just an FYI, he offers the cue for about $800 AND he is a Hall of Fame cuemaker unlike Spillson who apparently can't find his way out of S.C. to attend any of the shows so someone other than you knows who he is.
You can call them any way you want, but the process is different. Your 5 pronger is neat, but the ends didn't look too sharp. Can your 4000.man do a spiral cut?Nice try? A prong and a point IS the same thing. It just depends on who you talk to they call it by different names.
Do you realize the cuemaker I'm referring to is Paul Drexler/PFD Studios? Paul can do just about anything. The CNC he uses is one of the most advanced available so... yeah, I'm sure the spiral cut wouldn't be too much of a challenge.
I'm sorry if you feel slighted in regards to my comments regarding your cue. You asked for opinions and I offered one. The next time you ask for an opinion, make sure you have the maturity level to handle the response and the ability to understand it.
Please do not contact me again. It is becoming abundantly clear that you have very limited knowledge in the area of cue making and honestly I don't have time for a tutorial.
