HELP ID CUE, FROM the 1980's?? Says 16/25 on cue

But otherwise, I bought this cue in a group of others that I will post, but I need help on what the cue maker might be on this cue and if someone knows the value of the cue?? Any info would be helpful.

The cue comes with 2 shafts, the one I need info on is the second cue from the top with the 2 shafts (look like a micarta type material) and it has the wavy line in the collar of the joints, says $800.00 on the cue, but that means nothing to me.

sure looks like a Helmsetter to me, they made a lot of cues then , Weirs, Stanley West, Julio Somethin ornother. Looks like a bigger pin though so maybe not. I've seen Mali's with an inlay similar to that but I don't think it's exact. The wavy rings may be the answer.

Cues from the proficient auction?

The cue to me looks like a biaggio. Not sure if thats spelled right. I think they were made by adams or helmstetter in the 80's and 90's.

i almost bid on those till i realized each one of them had something wrong with them.. its a shame.. alot of nice cues

Yes these are the cue from a lot at Wambold Estate Auction being held by Proficient,

The little flowerettes look like some that were in a Mali T-13 cue that I had from the 1980's. But the forearm has a 16 of 25 written in cursive that looks like the writing on the Helmstetter and Adam limited editions. But, it looks like a nice design and the price tag states, $800.00 in 1980's, so this has to be a decent cue, the guy that collected these cues, had quite a varied taste, in other words he collected, "EVERYTING"!!!

So, also if someone can tell me if they think the ferrule material looks like 'Micarta' material or not, in the 1980's did they have any other yellow materials that looked like this, that would be put on a $800 cue of this time period??

Has anyone seen limited edition MALI cues from the 80's or early 90's that they wrote 16/25 on the forearms??

HELP HELP HELP!!!!

Anything u can provide would help me out, I might keep the cue for myself and sell the cue that I know about for sure.

The ferrules appear to be paper based micarta which is what was used on those biaggo cues. Like the schon stuff from the same era. Not asbestos based old yellow micarta.

i don't think that's a real meucci, actually looking at the rest of the cues, I don't see the mystery cue being 800 bucks either, especially back then

Stickers are easy to write..... The store owner could have wrote whatever he wanted on there. Or scot could have written it on to get more bids. This were the leftovers from a large store buyout from am estate. There were 3 or 4 groups like this that scot auctuomed together because they had "issues".

Yes...and not only that, it could simply be the MSRP...which in many cases with such cues is way beyond an unrealistic fantasy.

I've seen plenty of cheap pool cues priced in the hundreds on the sticker that actually sold for under a hundred bucks.



Do I know what this cue is? :rolleyes: I dunno.
 
The cue has been identified as a limited edition Helmstetter cue from 1988-1989

However, no body has id'd which model type it was and what the price was? The cue is stickered from 1991 from the Wambold estate as $800.00 with the two shafts.

Any other info would be apprecited!!

Biagio Cue started in 1984 BCE of England

Imported by Crystal Leisure and Helmstetter made these cues in Japan as well as later Biagio Cues were also made by JOSS.

This is a 1980's later 1980's Biagio Cue made by Helmstetter in Japan,

this is the info I had acquired, any rebuttal would be listened to.

I tend to disagree with the Helmstetter ID. I feel it is an Adams cue from the 80's. Julio Stamboulini series I believe. They had 3/8-10 flat faced joints, linen fiber ferrules, and Delrin butt caps. The clover in the points gives it away. I own one with the same clovers and all around look as reference if needed.

i dont know what its worth but when you say its unhit and original.. you forgot to mention about the one shaft that has a taper roll and the 1/16 nose roll at the pin.. below is how Scot Sherbine described the cue and i feel this is very important information when determining how much its worth
