I was needing some extra 1/4" tools for my new lathe and one of my buddies had told me about an Industrial supply store out by all the industrial plants in town, so today on my day off I figured I would ride out there and see what they had. I took one of my cut off tools to show them what size I had and the guy went in the back of the warehouse and brought back all the 1/4" tooling they had in stock, about that time the owner walked up to the counter and said that they hadn't sold any of that small stuff in ages and he just wanted it gone out his inventory. So.... he said that if I wanted any of them I had to take them ALL, but since I had to take ALL of them, he would give them to me for FREE !!!! He wouldn't let me buy just one piece and he wouldn't let me pay him for the whole lot, he said it was ALL FREE. WOOOO HOOOO !!!!!!
And these aren't the el-cheapo ones from Harbour Freight, these came from a good Industrial supply store.

I got 41 pieces total of carbide tooling. 25 pieces of AL4, 9 pieces of AR4, and 7 pieces of C4, all carbide tipped and all brand new. I've peeled the protective plastic off some of them but they all are brand new and still had the protective plastic covering the carbide tips when I got them earlier this morning. Just thought I would share my good fortune with someone, my wife sure didn't seem to understand my excitement, lol.

Good score!
Once I changed to inserts, I gave all my 1/4 tooling to a colleague..... Except the kennametal ones :) I use those in the Hightower tip shaper :D

I wouldn't be feeling like a jealous woman right now if it was somebody in any location other than Augusta. I see you ditched the Willards machine and got a lathe, too.
Congrats on the deal!

LOL, now you know where there is a lathe close to you in your home town, you're welcome to stop by the house and use it anytime you like or need to, free of charge.

That enought to last oh I would say about 100 years. I sharpen my bits every now and then and replace every 10 years. Cutting wood, phenolic and ferrules, carbide will last a long time.
