Red and Blue Diamond Pro-Am, whats the difference?

I didn't see a search function on here as I'm sure this topic has been brought up a time or two, but what is the difference between the Red and Blue Diamond Pro-Am tables? I played on a 9' with the blue Diamond logo on the rail at Kromes Billiards in Little Rock, AR and then this morning I played on a 9' with the red Diamond logo at Cue and Cushion in St. Louis, MO.

The only difference is cloth color. Pro Am's are available in a wide range of felt colors.
 
The blue label tables are the newer edition (in 2010 I think) that have revised sub-rail/cushion calibration at the factory to eliminate banking short and excessive ball hop off the cushions.
 
While there are differences that I'm sure RKC will explain shortly, the short answer is that both play better than any gold crown...

Agreed, having played on both the red and blue Diamonds, I will take them over any Gold Crown I have ever played on.
 
I have played on both and see no difference at all. They both bank short and jump off the rails. I will take any goldcrown over any diamond any day. As a matter of fact, I now refuse to gamble high on any diamond 9 footer. There a reason you can do things on a diamond you can't do on a goldcrown. They all play like a very cheap table compared to a real pool table like a goldcrown.:grin:

Jalapus has a "Brunswick sucks" personal thing. He owns a Diamond and is very proud of it. I don't blame him for pride in ownership but there's no reason to continually slam Brunswicks. They are fine tables.

BTW, he admitted in another thread that he's never played on a GC Tournament Edition.
 
Where's loud mouth at? I figured he would have chimed in on this...

Diamonds are fine tables. The older, red logo Diamonds banked shorter than a Brunswick. The new, blue logo Diamonds bank more like a Brunswick.

If your banks and kicks are jumping off the rail on a Diamond then the table was set up wrong somehow. Call a good table mechanic.
