which shaft would you recommend for a player that likes a stiff hitting shaft?

Mezz - low deflection - great feel - u can add the mezz extension for longer reach shots - allot of top players switched from Predator to Mezz.

But honestly i haven't hit with the Jacoby best of luck on your choice!
 
i have both....both are pretty stiff shafts. the mezz is lower deflection, if that's an important criteria for you. the mezz is also slightly thinner at 12.5, the edge is 12.75, though you can order it in thinner dimensions. an edge shaft at 12.5 might possibly be comparable in deflection to the mezz, but i haven't tested an edge at that size.

i like the hit of the mezz better, more solid, more like a maple shaft. the edge has a more hollow, plasticky hit due to the ferrule.
 
I thought Jacoby didn't make those shafts anymore.

I was contemplating getting one last year but heard through the grapevine that they didn't make them anymore.
 
The WD700 only comes at 12.5mm.
Yes, Jacoby still makes the Edge.
Edge standard is 12.75mm but you can ask them to make it what ever size you prefer.
As for the hit, that is always subjective.
I give a slight edge, no pun intended :smile: to the Mezz WD700.

hmm...the one i have is pretty stiff, all the mezz shafts i have are to varying extents. could be some variation from shaft to shaft, but most others i've seen talk about mezz also say that they consider the shafts to be on the stiff side.

you can get the wd700 in other diameters by special order. caroline pao from mezz usa can get them.
 
I use a wd700 on my schon ... I love the way the mezz hits, it is stiff like a regular maple shafts its awesome. I had the 314-2 and it didn't compare to the mezz in terms of feel.
