Quitting winner.

The last time I looked, "The money in my pockets, belonged to me."

Some people think it's just a loan. I'd like to have a nickel for every time I heard the phrase. "I want a chance to win my money back." If they were so fond of it, they never should have lost it, to me."

What would you have 2 or 3 nickels? For the 3 times you gambled...and got lucky that the guys you quit winner didn't jump you

And you think your who?

...well I think you're an idiot, as your posts have proven.

I know I am someone who plays pool for money. I think I play pool for money more frequently than 99% of this forum.

Given the fact that I have played all over the mid and southwest and I have maybe come across 2 or 3 guys who quit winner...and they are not frequent gamblers. I've come to the conclusion that keyboard jockeys on this forum who act like they know what they're talking about...actually don't.

So this is just some helpful information for new players and new gamblers...Don't quit winner, EVER.

Being the tuffy you are, did those 'maybe...2 or 3 guys' 'get what they deserve'?

If I were saying they got what they deserved, I would mean the money they won from me.

I think that a real tuffy like yourself probably meant that you waited until they weren't looking, hit them with something then ran like a twelve-year-old girl. That is more 'honorable' than quitting winner, right?

dld

Huh...

Non-sequitur much?

Horsepucky!!! If you don't want to lose your money then don't put it out there to be lost. I can't understand that mindset.

Him: I'm gonna bet big, but if you win you can't leave until I win it back.
Me: Uh, yeah, so why don't we just play a few games for free and get it over with already?

So what if he gives you a chance to win it back and you lose again? He has to give you another chance? Then what if you lose that one? Another? When does it end?

It ends when he's done losing or runs out of money. How is that so hard to understand?

The person your posting about is an inductee of The New England Pool And Billiards Hall Of Fame.

He also happens to be serving as the current president of The New England Pool And Billiard Hall Of Fame.

Three time New England 9-Ball Champion

Drew why don't you pop your head out of your butt once in a while before you go running your mouth about someone, who's accomplishments you don't even know! But for now just Piss Off!!!

Thanks for defending me, itsfroze, but it's really not neccessary.

I look at pool like a fight or boxing match. I beat the shit out of you for nine rounds and you want to get lucky with one punch and win the fight. That's a stupid way to gamble and I'm not about to do it.

On a good day, I might give you a chance to win half your money back. I worked to long and to hard to get ahead of you.

I've been known to give very fair games. I never robbed anyone.

Drew, if you had my won loss record, you would have lots of nickels.

ssshhh, this is a hot tip about gambling, don't tell anyone!

Here are a few deep dark secrets about gambling. While I realize there are many on here more experienced I did gamble 99 nights out of a hundred for many years.

People will never play you again if you quit winner! People will never play you again unless you spot them the sun and the moon! People will never play you again unless you sit in your chair like a statue motionless and silent when it is their turn to shoot. People will never play you again if you don't keep losing until you are busted. People will never play you again if . . .

There is one exception to all of the above rules. Show up with a nice wad of money in your pocket everytime you go in a place and people will stand in line to play you! A fine example of that was the recent sideshow with David Peat. The golden rule applies in pool perhaps more than anywhere else, he who has the gold makes the rules! I always had a fair sized wad of cash in my pocket and I always found action anywhere I went.
