Fantastic Super Glue Spreaders FS

5 min epoxy

I use the same but wait an hour. Talk about a time kill. How long is everyone else waiting?

Hi dano
first off im a novis in cue repair.
5 min epoxy does dry in one hr. But i had one that didnt and i had to redo my work. operator error

the only problem with super glue it has a shelf life and when it goes bad
it gets stringy or just slightly thicker then normal. < can cause chaos

5 min epoxy is my choice for capped ferrules.
un capped loctite super gel .

I use the G-Flex epoxy, it has the ability to maintain a bond under cyclic shock loading.
I do not use 5 min for anything in cuemaking.

Have you ever use 5 min epoxy , It sounds like you have had a problem with it one time or another ?

I use 5 min in areas I feel is appropriate. I do not see any area in my cue construction and technique where the 5 min epoxy meets the desired specifications I am after.
I am sure with a std 3/4 inch ferrule on a threaded tenon , just about any glue will work.
I am also very particular about the mixing of my adhesives and have about 28 years experience working with various composites and adhesive types.
Quick set, does not always mean the product or bond is inferior. The more important part is, does the product have the bond share strength required for the application ?, Can it withstand the frequency of the rate of impact ?,Are the forces less than 75% of the tested bond strengths ?.
These are only some of the questions that need to be asked and have answered so that the correct product is used in the application.
