Hey guys,
The man is just making suggestions on how the seller can make it easier for the BUYER to find what he wants to BUY!!

Notice the accent on the BUYER and BUY.

One would assume as sellers you would want to make it easy on BUYERS to find your items for sale?:rolleyes:

Why Search?

I think following this format below would get more results and you would only have to visit one spot. Easy Peasy.

how much for the 3 in the middle? 0.0

You can also go look for BHQ he makes a hell of a beuatiful cue similar to the tuxedo cue you were talking about?

That would be me . I see a lot a talking and a bunch of wishing and NO buying yet. When you rack up some I-Trader feedback with some reputable sellers maybe I'll change my mind. Right now I'm still feeling pretty good about my initial gut reaction to your first post. Only time will tell.

This is hilarious... First, you accuse me of nitpicking (when all I was trying to do in the first place is to help YOU, the sellers, to sell your cues), and said that you will not sell to me, and now you're singing a different tune (sort of). Perhaps I didn't make it clear - I am NOT a collector. I'm just a regular Joe Shmoe (well, in my case it would be regular Vlad the Impaler), who's enjoying an occasional game of pool. I've been playing with an old McDermott cue for the last decade, and for the most part, have been pretty happy with it. I recently acquired a pool table, and have been playing more, and getting better. As I mentioned before, my 40th birthday is coming up, and I want to treat myself to a nice cue (well, it'll be a gift from my wife, since she never knows what to get me, and I end up either telling her what I want, or just buying it myself). Here's the thing... I can buy ANY cue on this forum. I can buy more than a few. BUT... I just need one to play with. ONE... So I will never "rack up" i-trader feedback, because one cue is all I need (I may buy another one for my father-in-law, whose Bday is coming up also). I know I'm gonna get slapped for this, but cues are meant to be played with, not be put on the display, under the glass, or worse, in the box in some closet (... and I don't see a point of spending more than a grand or so on a cue. I mean, if I bought that gorgeous Bill Schick that was offered for sale here for $12K, I'd be afraid to play with it). So I don't see a point of buying dozens of them, so they can just collect dust somewhere (having said that, I do realize that some people are hardcore collectors, and for them it's probably more like collecting artworks). Anyway... I went off track a bit. I've got money to spend, but I will NOT buy a cue from you (my initial gut reaction is also always right. I'm also a bit superstitious, and wouldn't want a cue that I bought from you break in my hands). In the last few hours I've gotten about 7-8 offers. Some good looking cues, but nothing that struck my fancy yet. So keep 'em coming, boys.

P.S. I appreciate all the nice comments, guys. It seems that you are in minority (the only one, actually), lenoxmjs, when you said that I was nitpicking when I said that you have to know your makers, especially if you in a business of selling cues.

There are also many sites outside of AZ Land that sell cues. Expand your search and if you truly can't find a cue to fit your needs then have a maker whip one up for you.

Good luck in your search.......

BAM! That's exactly what I was trying to do... Thank you!

Here's my Problem . You come on here with less than 10 posts and are telling everyone who has been here for years how they should do busisness.

Call me crazy but this strikes me as more than a bit arrogant.

In your original post you were also Saying somthing about listing a cue with an elephant ear wrap as leather. It's not leather it's elephant , or lizard, or Kangaroo or whatever exotic skin it is . Why would I want to devalue it by listing it as leather.

Maybe you and I got off on the wrong foot but that is the way your initial post struck me

I think that if I were the new guy and wanted to buy a stick my post would have looked like the following

Hi guys my name is Vlad. I'm new here and have been playing pool for many years . I recently found AZ and my 40th birthday is comming up and my lovely wife would like to treat me to a custom cue. I like Gina's , Scruggs and Tascarellas. I'm looking to spend $1200 but may step up for the right cue. The cue must have a leather wrap , weigh, and would like 2 full shafts .
I look forward to seeing what the AZ community has to offer.

Thanks,
VLAD

See the difference?

+1 I agree, That's why my first post was what it is cause it just sounded like this guy hasn't gotten any in a long time. LOL

Why all the frustration? I sell and trade and I think I'm Doing It Right...

Who was that guy?

OK, I'll add a few more specs to narrow my search down a bit more. Weight: 19-19.5 oz . Shafts: 2 or more (I may consider one if the cue really strikes me). Tips: 12-13mm. Condition: New, Test Hit, or MINT (no visible dings, scratches, and so on). What else?

P.S. I got 4 PM's in the last half an hour. Appreciate the offers, guys.

P.P.S. Who was that guy who didn't want to sell to me?

he's just one of the best sellers on here with a collection of 1200 cues in all likelihood.

I see the time value aspect but if time is that valuable buy something its only the best buyers market in 25 yrs

Actually, my original post was NOT meant to be a "Looking for a cue" thread (I would probably post that one in a couple of weeks), but a Request to sellers which would help me to find the right cue. It's just that it got twisted a bit, and was taken out of content. So no, I don't see the difference/point. I mentioned in my original post that I simply don't have the time sometimes to read through all the posts, and in the last few weeks, was basically typing in "leather" in the search engine, and was scrolling through hits. To me, "elephant ear", "lizard tail", "alligator nose", "wild boar foot", or whatever else is LEATHER (when you buy a leather coat, I don't think you tell people whether it's pigskin, sheepskin, or something like that). Perhaps, I was mistaken in my assumptions. That's why I suggested (as an politely asked) sellers to list both in their description. And call me crazy, but I think it would actually help your SALE! Now to the point of me being new here, with less than 10 posts. Are you serious?! You've got over 3,000 posts, but how many of them are actually meaningful? I bet not even 10 percent. So, if that's what you (or any other seller out there) need, I can rack those up easily in the next couple of days. A dozen "thank you's"; a few "nice cue, good luck with your sale"; and I'll have as many if not more posts than you. But don't you think it's a bit foolish? Anyway... Not that it matters, but my user id on Ebay is "rentarv" - look it up if you want to find out whether I'm "credible" or not. But why, as a seller, would you be concerned anyway if I'm the one sending you money first? It's me who should be worried whether I will receive a cue from you or not, and the condition it will be in. Again, not that it matters, because I'm definitely not buying from you. No offense, and I do apologize to you and other people if I made some inappropriate comments, but you did rub me the wrong way...

Well, he's not that good of a salesman then, because I'm one customer that will definitely not be buying from him.

Honestly, I wasn't frustrated at all when I first posted my thread. But I am getting more and more with each post here. Perhaps I should just stop, and check my PM's for more offers that keep on coming like crazy.

P.S. I get it regularly, and get it often... In fact, got some last night, and it was awesome :)

Forum rule #1: don't take anything personally.

There will always be someone who takes offense or wants to argue with your tone/wording/idea. The best move is to ignore them and respond to the people who are being positive.

if you can't do that, people will start calling you jb, lol.

Ok Your EBAY feedback is 100% so is mine . The name is the same as it is here .

As far as my posts being trivial I would say rarely.

I buy a lot , I sell alot, I've been here quite a while and believe that I have earned respect of most of the membership. I'm as honest as they come and was trying to give you a few pointers but I can see my effort is falling on deaf ears so I'll just give up.

Have a great day and good luck to you in your search.

Matt

Not even close to that number but I have a nice cue or two :)

I don't doubt your honesty, I just don't get your "sales" approach here... You've lost one customer, you may lose more if you keep this up. Again, don't mean no disrespect, just trying to help actually...

Thanks, and I'm sure sooner or later I will find what I'm looking for (in fact, I do have a couple of cues in mind already, and even made an offer on one).

P.S. I'm up to 20 posts already, does that mean I've earned more trust and respect here? :)

P.P.S. You really should look closely at my Ebay id - it's not the same. "vratner", which stands for Vladimir Ratner (my full name) was taken on Ebay by someone else. "rentarv" is "vratner" if you read it backwards. Just saying... Pay more attention not only to names, id's, but people, and you'll do much better.
