I have a Hightower Deluxe Cuesmith with everything included in package #1. It is in perfect working order and in very good condition.
*CUE MAKERS SPECIAL PACKAGE #1*

TaperAttachments
Router, Spur Driver and Bit
Power Feed
RearChuck
1/2 HP AC step pulley motor

Extra steady rest

This sells new for $2995.00

I have extra lathe cutting bits, a 1/2 dozen different taps and threaders for all points of cue construction, new 45 degree bit for making points, new 6 blade bit for making the smoothest cuts when tapering. These extra tools are worth another $250.

I also have a lot of cuebuilding materials including:
15 Resolute treated shaft cones thatrequire just a few passes to get to size
17 exotic wood 1.5 inch per side turning squares x 18 long
12 or more exotic wood 1.5 inch dowels (some tapered)
9 maple core pieces
5 sneaky pete blanks (2 that have the joint and butt collars on and have been tapered down some)
5 Dymond wood butt sections (make nice jump breaks)
1 cream PVC 1 3/8 rod x 12 in
1 black PVC rod 1 3/8 x 11 in
1 Ivory substitute rod 1 3/8 x 8 in
1 double black linen hollow rod (for rings) x 16 in
10 sets of 25 count butt and 25 count joint colar rings
white and black fiber rings for the butt and collar sections 10 pc per bag
4 sets of linen butcaps and joint collars (3 pieces each set)
6 SS joint collars
6 5/16x 14 self centering joint pins/inserts
18 Hercules layered tips
9 predrilled and threaded ferrules (cue components best available)
5 black and 5 brown phenolic jump break one piece ferrule/tip predrilled
9 push in rubber bumpers
a variety of adhesives; 8 oz G5 epoxy, 2oz thin cryo, 2oz thick cryo, cryo activator spray, 2 sets of 15 minutes epoxy
4 18 inch sections of weight bolt rod
10 one inch long weight bolt sections with allen head
3 red and black speck Blue Mountain Irish Linen spools
3 black Blue Mountain irish linen spools
Cue components 1 quart cue sealer, 1 quart finish
System V polish set, the best plus a 16 ounce bottle of Final Finish
3m Micromesh abrasive sheets 1,500 - 12000 grit to make the finish really shine
10 tack cloths and a lot of microfiber sheets to apply finishes and polishes
1 measuring caliper

These materials are enough to make a few dozen cues without having to buy a thing.

I will include the Hightower cue building book which explans exactly how to use the lathe and build cues. I have a DVD set to include as well.

My price for all this is $2900 delivered anywhere in the continetal USA and the price is FIRM. Considering the lathe is $3000, extra tools and taps another $250 and $2000 in cuebuilding material, this package would cost $5250 to purchase new. So my price is more than fair.

I will work on compiling a better list (with the retail pricing on the cue building materials) and make that available by email to whoever wants it. I will also send along phots of everything by email to whoever requests them.

I would ship UPS fully insured, the lathe in one package and everything else in another.

Feel free to contact me directly to disuss this at (315) 415-5746.

Did it sell?

I'm not sure myself! Awaiting a cashier's check or confirmation that one was sent. Ihave over 5 persons who want it at my asking price. So I'll call the man who was 1st on the list to buy tomorrow. If the check is not "in the mail" then the first person to pay get this package. I will PM everyone tomorrow and then whoever pays first gets it.

Be very careful with accepting a Cashiers Check. If its drawn from a major Bank (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc..) take it there and cash it. If you have to deposit it, it could take a month to truly clear. Probably the most common scam on the Internet. You deposit the CC, the money shows up in your account, you ship whatever it is and then the check turns out to be a fake, your item is gone and YOU are on the hook for paying the bank back the money that was put into your account! I am certainly NOT saying that is the case here just I am very leery of CCs.

Bryan is very dead on correct. I took one for 16K about 10 years ago and deposited it in my Bank of America account with instructions for them to contact me when it cleared. They did, life was fine. Two weeks later they deducted it from my account saying it was counterfiet. I can't write the words I used in Bank of America in this post without being kicked off here. I thought their acceptance and clearing was my defence.

Had I cashed it they could not have taken it from my account but I am sure I would have had a visit from the police for cashing a counterfiet check.

If the check is coming from a long time poster with a good reputation I would have no worries.

I am awe struck the lathe might still be available. A Bank to Bank transfer takes minutes. I will be interested in how this whole thing plays out..

If you cash it at the bank it was written from (say Chase) they should know right away if the check is good. You walk away with cash and all should be fine.

I get scam emails all the time and like to figure out the scam. For a while I had a good time screwing with them. Once, I had one guy actually send a $10k check to the Governor of MD. He sent me the tracking #, it was sent to the State House (my wife was POed though because they are friends). I was supposed to cash it, then send 1/2 to his "Shipper". I ran that guy all over the Philippines for close to a month trying to get his money. Its pretty darn funny but very crude. I wrote some awful stuff in there seeing how far I could push him. It lasted close to 2 months. I put all the emails in a doc for a friend to read. If you want to read it send me your email address :)

I work with large cashiers checks everyday, and according to my bank they cannot tell if a check is valid or not, the only way is to deposit and see a while later, bunch of BS. Sometimes I can call the bank that issued it and all they can tell me is if the account exists, which still doesn't guarantee the check is good as some scammers use existing account numbers to write fake checks.
If you don't have a bank account at the issuing bank the check is written from then they will not cash it for you unless you can go to the actual branch that wrote the check, which you cannot find most of the time as it isn't written on the check, only the Bank name. It is too much risk for them.

This is a major problem with the banking industry.

Some people have also been arrested for trying to cash a check that they didn't realize was fake.

So, if I got a check from Chase and took it to a Chase bank they can neither verify its real nor cash it on the spot? If neither is true then I would say yeah thats a problem. CC's used to be the one guaranteed form of payment.

Oh well... Cash is King so sayeth the Lord

Everyone is wondering if the Cashiers Check will be good. Well they aint delivering mail today and if I read this right the seller will pick someone tomorrow morning.

Playing the Devils Advacate, screw the check what exactly is known 100% about the seller?

Gotta go old school where "Buyers are Liers and Sellers are Thieves"

I am not accusing anyone, just putting a change of spin on the payment being bad.

That is correct, unless you take it to the same actual branch that printed/wrote the check. That it what most of the banks I have called told me when I tried to verify them.
They want you to have an account there so they can make you pay if it isnt a real check.
They definitely need a better system.

United States Postal Money Orders. They will cash them. They have a way to check them. Now, I've never tried to cash $3,000 worth but I've always been able to cash them at any Post Office.

You would think a bank would be able to easily verify the account, check # and amount. After all, THEY issued the check.... or not.

I have 5 $1000.00 United States Postal Money Orders that when taken to the post office some years ago they told me they were good. All one has to do is hold them up to the light and look for the water mark... that is not there... to know they are fake. The Nigerians have been doing this for years.

Exactly!! They SHOULD be able to tell but for some reason can't.

I was next in line he left me a message saying to get back to him. That was yesterday. I posted that I'd take it. I sent him a PM asking for a reply. I sent him a email and called him 3 or 4 times and left him two messages on his phone. that was all just yesterday. I tried calling him twice today it went to voice mail. Still haven't heard anything from him.
