Blomdahl- powerful, precise...and a very good pool player, as well as one of the top 3c players of the past decade. Holder of 15 World titles in 3c.

Cuelemans- won first World title in 1961 and is the only player to remain at the top-level for 40 years. Unheard-of, especially given the changes 3c has seen in his time, IMO. The definition of an Icon.

i think the general populace fails to realize the magnitude of the grouping.

i can't think of an equal in any other sporting contest.

...balkline games developed to make the precursor game, straight rail, more difficult to play and less tedious for spectators to view in light of extraordinary skill developments which allowed top players to score a seemingly endless series of points with the balls barely moving in a confined area of the table playing area.

In straight-rail billiards, scoring occurs when you strike the other 2 balls on the table with your cue ball. Good players gather the balls in a small area and can score such high runs that the game is not a contest by many definitions.

Thus, rules were instituted where the table was divided into sections- the divisions are the 'balklines' and a player may score a limited amount of points before crossin the balkline with 2 balls. good players can still gather balls, but they have to move them great distances, compared to straight-rail.

71.2 balkline, of French invention, lines are drawn 71 centimeters distant from each rail, also with a two count restriction for balk spaces

I hear Blomdahl can run a 100 at snooker also...he may be the best all-round
since Harold Worst.

And Raymond Ceulemans was asked to try some 14.1 in 1978 when he won
the 3-c title in Vegas.....
..he ran 50 and said "That's a nice game."

Reyes will have to get lucky...what else is new?

This set is one I might buy if available. Three of the very best playing, IMO, for the pure joy of the games.
