I've been back a few days now and had a chance to unwind. I want to give credit to the people who were so instrumental in making it happen.
First of all the people who run the show and keep it going so smoothly: Paul Smith, Ric & Bonnie Jones, Bill Stock all do a great job! And Ken Shuman is everywhere and anywhere that he's needed, except when he needs his beauty rest!
Pat Fleming and his entire crew are simply the best in the biz and we are fortunate to have them with us! JR Calvert also did a good job with his streaming of matches. Thanks to John Bertone of Kamui for making that possible.
And last but certainly not least the men behind the scenes who made this event a reality: Greg Sullivan and Chad Scharlow of Diamond. Greg LOVES pool and does all he can to support professional pool. I hate to think where we'd be without him. Chad labors in the background putting together all aspects of the event! He literally does the work of ten men, always there from early morning till late at night making sure everything is running smoothly.
This is way too brief and I've left out a lot of names of people who also helped with the event, but these are the people who stand out to me. Thanks to all the players who came and supported this new event and to all the fans who showed up as well. Hopefully this will be the start of a second great Diamond tournament held annually.
P.S. A shout out to Lee Brett who helped me every day with the Ten Ball tourney. And to the players and their backers who made it so memorable. Thanks again to everyone! :thumbup2:
