I am with you. I do not care how it is written. This is not an English or Composition Class. In regards to the OP, if there is a disagreement shouldn't there been a re-rack since the ref didn't see the actual shot?

But I will venture that the insults against 'integrity' ( with or without merit ) have been made and so
there will be no opportunity to make things square.
It would take a mighty big person to let the OPs assertions run like water off a...
 
The few times I have seen Gary in action, tournament or gambling, I have never seen him get into it with anyone (win or lose). So there must have been some truth in his vent, and if so he got screwed. And, I don't believe he was calling Joey a cheater, he was saying he got screwed by Evelyn because of her knowing Joey for many years and his many friends and backers in Olathe.

I have been to a couple events run by Evelyn and she is very fair from what I've seen and I like her. But if what Gary said is true, she was wrong. Joey even said he wasn't sure where the balls were, there should have been no call and Joey shoots from there.

Yes, the post was hard to read, but the content was very clear once you get through it. I for one am sorry it happened, I like all concerned.

The post didn't really require any deciphering. I just think SOME attempt
at grammar is showing respect to those who you expect to read the post.

Gary, never-the-less, has my sympathy.
What I don't understand about the TD is the refusal to consult with the
spectators....she still makes the final decision.

Lot of action calls were made from spectators....when asked.
 
Sounds like a tough situation. However, a player of your obvious capability shouldn't be "moving balls" which seems to be at the root of the issue. Ball not moved, no controversy. Then in anger and frustration, you forfeited your next match.

With that said, if this Joey guy is the stand up guy people are saying he is, it seems like he would have encouraged the lady running the tournament to consult with a couple of eyewitnesses in the crowd to get the facts or at worst, suggested a re-rack.

Considering everything described by you, if that is the worst you ever get screwed in a competitive event, you've lived a rather charmed life. Sounds like tough timing for you with the surgery coming and all. Best of luck with your surgery and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!
 
Wow, man, sorry to hear this. I don't know Joey other than seeing him playing at tourneys. My gut feel is he is an honorable person. Sounds like I would agree with you and it should go to the shooter. But there are always three sides to every story. And the path of the ball rule is very subjective. So the sting is even worse..

This is why i dont get online. Ignorent people make ignorent comments, chip,joey, and i have been friends a long time and still are. I am in a position to win this tournament,and this outragiously unfair call by a seasoned tournament director who lives in oklahoma, is this a mistake, or is this a biased call. Im not a f king crybaby, for all you nonplaying ,uneducated wanna be poolplayers, and i dont mean everyone on this thread. People who know me know this. Im still, and will continue to be upset, i was f ked. How can you make a call like that without seeing it.

I agree, if a tournament director is not there then they cannot make a call on a foul period. It is supposed to be up to you as the shooter to make the call. You got screwed.

knowing full well that her decision could very well determine the outcome of that match, that was very irresponsible of her.

Get em gary. It sounds like a coinflip situation, which should have favored the shooter. It sucks but sometimes thats life. Get em next time gary.

Definitely sounds like a bad call. The only problem is that the tournament director has the final authority. Even if it is a bad call, there is nothing really you can do.
