No doubt England would win this. However try looking at a recent Daz v.s ALEX match 10b-10ft....BLOWOUT.

we do ok for a small country , not many american tables here, mostly snooker and english pool 6 foot , small pockets !

Try some One Pocket - bring lots of cash.

looks a complicated game to me !! nobody plays it here , snookers hard work but satisfying if you make a decent break. not often in my case lol. phil makes 100 plus with his 9 ball cue which amuses the local players :)

they were going to have One Pocket in the Olympics, but it narrowly lost out to, watching grass grow and watching paint dry, which were considered more exciting:rotflmao1:

Typical response from those who know less about pool than a fifth grader.

Sad state of affairs when a *pool* cue -- which has traditionally been used to play all pool games (e.g. 8-ball, 14.1, one pocket, bank pool, rotation games, and a slight variant used for the carom games) -- is known as a "9 ball cue" in the UK.

You *do* know we play much more than the brain-dead game of 9-ball, right? :p :D

buster45...You can be very proud of your son Phil. I met him last Oct., when he was out at the US Open with Stan Shuffett, and had a chance to sit and talk with him. I sweated a couple of his matches too...he's a smooth player! Very talented, and genuinely nice!

I wish I could have met Phil. He was hanging around the now defunct Diamond Billiards Pub in Lexington 6 months or so ago. Everyone raved about how well he played. I wish I could have seen it for myself. Good luck to a fine young player.

Now, about your snooker comment, I'm afraid the boys in my area would get smoked in rapid order by your crew. The only snooker table within a 100 kilometer radius to be found is in a picture...

With all due respect, I was in Vegas when the US Open One Pocket event was going on. The Riv had it on closed-circuit and on more than one occasion, a non-poolplaying guest asked me what they were playing. Because it was pool, they were intrigued to watch for a minute but because these guys weren't pocketing balls very often, they turned it off. Now, that's not to say that one pocket is unwatchable or boring. I'm not saying that. All I'm saying is, only REAL pool players know anything about it and if they're ever going to bring the game to tv, they'll have to do a great job educating the general audience.
