I have it and I know how to address the rack if certain situations arise.
What I was wondering how do you address the rack in 9 ball if its a perfect rack.
I cant remember does Joe address a good rack?
Mike, congrats on your win at TS, you played great. A match with you and Shane playing a fairly high number of games would be very interesting to watch. When they have a mike on the table there is a lot less conversations going on than one would expect, but I think that is the way it should be, where the players just let there cue do the talking. Do you like wearing a mike during matches?
There has been no benefit for anyone out of this thread. Please. He hasn't answered a question honestly yet. Besides when I get texts from 3-4 different people ASKING me to write on this thread, I did.
MD. Is a coward, and hasn't answered me yet. But I doubt he will, he will act like a coward the next time I see him, and walk away, not say a word, and act like he is right. Keep playing your game and banging balls around and cheating people Mike. I have a legitimate job, make way more than you ever will playing pool, and I don't have to cheat anyone! So I can sleep at night. I have honor, and integrity. That is something I learned is VERY lacking in this game, and I had to learn the hardway from a bad business deal from one of the biggest jokes in the game.
Im done, people enjoy your little pow-wow with Duchaine, I am not sure if he can help your actual pool game, but he sure can teach you how to rack.

I don't really have any questions Mike but I wanted to commend you for taking the time to make this thread and share your knowledge w/ the community here.
I know the cocky thing kinda rubs some people the wrong way, but I think most top athletes in all sports believe in themselves to the max and project that. I believe it probably also pumps you to play well.
As you grow as a player (which seems to be happening at a break-neck pace), I hope you can kind of take a moment to reflect on some past instances with (as an example) Justin and TAR and become a better person and put your best foot forward because we (as the pool community) REALLY need to see more of you in those scenarios.
Sometimes right or wrong doesn't matter for the betterment of the common good (if that makes any sense at all).
Anyways, this thread really changed my view and perspective on you as a person most of all. I hope this carries on to other aspects of pool and we hope to see more of you in the winner's circle.

I think you misunderstood...the poster was asking how to *break* the rack when it is a perfect rack. He wasn't asking about racking. I think the answer he was looking for was something like "well, if the rack is perfect, I usually try breaking from xyz position and hit the cue ball abc..."
You're clearly upset, but I think you missed the point on this one. Plus, why attack that poster? You even know him? You *may* have a legit beef with Mike...but this guy is just harmlessly asking a question, no?

I had the priviledge of watching your final two matches at Turning Stone an congratulating you on your win. It was a great day for me as I had never been to a pro tourney before. I loved it and I was impressed at the general accessibility of the pro players. I think it's great that you would share your thoughts and experiences online with us. A quick question? Did you have a serious mentor and did you take alot of pool lessons as a youth? Or was your success just the result of hitting millions of balls and trial and error? All the best!

In fact, last time I saw you I was going to pay but you acted the same way you did in this post and it's really not worth my time for people like you to try to bring me down. I think you misread 8packs post. He wasn't asking how to cheat someone. I have Tucker's book and he gives advice on where to break the rack depending on where certain gaps are. I think 8pack was asking the best way to break if the rack has all the balls frozen.
To that I've always started from the far side of either side and see where the corner ball goes.
Oh, and it's "you're a genius." Lighten up. Especially before you jump to call someone a cheat and an idiot.

The way I chalked- the way I do it is very simple. When you chalk "normal" I guess, a dark ring of chalk ends up forming right below the ferrule. In time, that ring starts to take away some of the wood. I can't play if the shaft ends up like that. Also, I miscue sometimes. I like to make sure my tip is fully chalked on all areas of it. It may good stupid, but it works.

( Not sure if this has been ask yet but my question is how you execute your 9 ball break.I like the way I play but im not giving myself the opportunity to win because of the break.(Im dogging the break).
If i check the rack I increase my odds a little but I just dont like checking the rack every time.(maybe I should).
When your breaking do you go above center or below .Also do you try to stay at a certain speed or use any type of english.

Yes I know and a bunch of other people know things about the rack and if I had my way no player(not saying anyone's cheating) would be aloud to touch the rack,nun's would be racking with the Pope checking,don't trust them either.(nun's)
They use to beat me when I was a youngster.

Well at one point it was $50.00, then $100, I stand fast at $200 as it always has been. Last time I saw you I never said a word to you. I sat there and watch you hit Wilkie with a 4 pack, then rack him high, when he was giving you perfect racks. None the less we can play for it... We can play one pocket, you give me the same game all the pros give me in 1 pocket and we can play $100 sets all day. You think asking me to bet would steer me away? No way sally, I have played the BEST in the world, and won given a FAIR game.
True class right there. I would have never thought a bad thing or publicly said anything about the kid had he paid his debt. Not paying your debt, even though it is small, still makes me think bad things about you. I bill my clients $75-$125 an hour, the $200.00 isn't about the money, its the princpal.
I had a pro that I used to consider a decent guy, until he made a split with a freind of mine, and never paid the $800.00 spilt even AFTER the guy won 10K winning a tournament. That kind of sleeze makes me want to call you out. And trust me, I am not afraid to call BS where I See BS.

I appologize, I misread your question. I sincerely appologize. I often hear people ask questions like that and it bothers me that people WANT to cheat. Manipulating the rack is cheating.
