Hello Joey my friend
1.) I for myself prefer a good and soft leather grip section-or a gummi. Both of these gives me the feel in need and want. Especially bc i have a very loose grip-even on the breakshot.
2.) I used to break with a customized breaker (very first Falcon Butt with a old growth 40+ years old shaft and mezz trance tip). And it was ok- but the grip on it (was not real leather- is too slippery for me) was not satisfying me. I also tested shortly the Predator BK2 -and it is of course a good break cue- it was just the tip combination i didn t like. The cue definitley transfered the *power* just great. Sure a quality product for break cues.
Tuesday i had a mini bootcamp with students and a friend showed me his *modified* Gullyassy. The shaft on this cue is a Mezz DI Shaft with a Mezz Trance Tip. And i felt immediatley perfect. Perfect balance for me with a super grippy leather grip.
3.) So i started to test a bit around with the breakspeed app. With my old personal customized breaker i received constantly between 17.5 and 18.5 mph.
-Next was the Big Beulah from my student Terje- also a super Breaker, and i ended here 19-20 mph. (sports grip). Just the taper didn t fit me and the tip was too big for me

But super control with it!
I then took the Gullyassy with the Mezz Break Shaft- and with the same stroke i increased the mph. From then i reached consistantly 19.5 to 20,5 mph. With a wonderful control.
Well bc of my shoulder issues i m anyway not the guy who tries to act like "De Luna". So i m forced to use also *just forearm action* and try to be as accurate as possible.
The break nowadays is so important and deciding, that it is for sure a good idea to find the cue which fits for your Joey. And my personal opinion for YOU is, that you test the BK2 with a sportsgrip.
And for the Mezz question- they make a super product. But as usualy- test it Joey. Don t get your informations from whereever. The taper has to be perfect you as it is the balance and the grip section. Just imagine if the taper don t fits you? Then you re done on the break. Feeling uncomfortable= dead end street.
And the shafts on break cues are often VERY different if it s about the taper. So lookout for friends and guys to test it
If you have any more questions about it (technically or from expirience) just shoot me a message on facebook my friend,
