Accu-Rack System Video is up!!

I like the video how-to as well. Not so sure about the 8 ball rack, but then again I don't play much of it anyway. My thoughts are the same as using the magic rack - too many balls on the table that would interfere with the removal after the break.

The nine and ten I like!

Not sure but

It looks to me like each rack has a significantly larger footprint than the magic rack. Larger footprint=more chance of having issues removing it after the break. With the magic rack the nine ball often stays put. This is not a problem because that area is clear. Accu rack? Not so much. All else looks equal meaning magic rack is superior. Not trying to be a kill joy but that's how it appears to me. I could be wrong of course.

I agree magic rack (and probably accu rack) is great for 9 ball and 10 ball, but I prefer a tapped table or a normal rack for 8-ball and 14.1.

The Accu-Rack does have a larger footprint and you can wind up with balls on the surface... On an 8over the instance rate was about 5% of the time with different breakers using the 8ball template....

The good thing is the material acts like the cloth in providing friction so you can shoot a draw shot on a ball stuck on it and the rack doesn't slide and the cueballl reacts exactly like you had drawn the ball on the cloth... I have played several racks just leaving it on the table and while anything will affect a ball slow rolling for the most part they are a non issue... 1hole and straight pool they are no good for but 8Ball they work fine...

In addition to the cueball getting friction when shooting across the rack, the balls coming out of the rack pick up roll like they do on cloth... They are not sliding across plastic... Getting rid of slide has made the wing ball in 9ball much harder to make... You can make it if you hit the rack from the right angle and at the right speed but you can't just "hit" it....

The geometry is the second asset... I can say that even with old worn out balls you can get a frozen rack on the Accu-Rack templates...
This is not the case in some instances... If you have your own balls or the room you play in replaces their sets constantly this may not matter but most rooms I go to have sets that could be anywhere from 1 to 10 years old with stolen balls replaced with new replacements so having a consistent set is never going to happen...

Anyway that's way to much of a rah rah sales pitch response....

I will say that I might look at putting them on a diet if this seems to be a problem... SO FAR it has not been noted to be one even with the test racks I have had out... I will make sure to check with the people who have demos on the way to them to see if they are seeing an issue with having to leave the rack on the table more than they would like and if it is causing a problem in the instances where it has to.....

One of the reasons I left the area at the front large was to add stability to them... They may not require that much material as the material holds it's shape very well....

Thank you for your honest feedback....

14.1 you have to used a normal rack and the same for 1pocket... For now at least... I keep toying with a few ideas =)

With 8ball you are more than likely to have never gotten a rack that was completely frozen... Anytime you have seen someone crush the head ball and watched a corner ball go into the corner there were gaps...

8ball with a frozen rack is a hard rack to break and make balls with... It also is a game where clusters are not super common if the rack was frozen...

Using a template that gets all of the balls touching definitely will have you rethinking the game dynamics...

Thanks for your input... May have to put my thinking cap back on for 14.1 and 1P.....

So these racks don't have a hole for the money ball in the 9/10ball racks? Since this ball usually doesnt move very much when a perfectly frozen rack is struck, the ball will still be on top of the accu-rack unable to be removed? I know you've said the material is better to simulate the cloth on the table, but I'm more concerned with the visually distracting aspect of the rack remaining on the table.

The hole actually was causing the money ball to be trapped more often on the 9 and 8ball templates.... The 10ball has yet to stay on the rack unless it has been knocked back onto it... The 9 may stay 2 in 100 and the 8ball will stay on about the same as the 9ball... Usually they only stay on an offhit break where the head ball was not hit well...

Since the material is not removed from under the money ball and the material creates friction the money ball usually will find it's way off of the template...

One thing to consider is that in a frozen rack you still have differences in ball sizes and mass... Do not confuse a loaded rack with a frozen rack... In a loaded rack more than the balls weight and cloth friction is at play and you often see the money ball not moving....

I am one of the winners of the test sets. I got my first chance to play with them for more than a few minutes this afternoon. I used them for an hour and a half, primarily the 9-ball model, though i did use the 8-ball model a little, too.

I am no expert, so take these statements from that view point. Also, I had never used magic rack or other templates before.

I liked them. It didn't take long to get used to them. They do indeed give a good tight rack. I didn't notice any difficulties shooting over them, but I didn't really test shots specifically for that purpose. That means I cant speak to draw or stop shots specifically, and i didnt notice any skid. Hopefully next time I will be able to test those directly.

One thing that I noticed, even with the 8-ball version, is that there weren't many balls that would be left on the template. So it wouldn't take long to remove the templte in most instances, I would imagine. The 8-ball rack surprised me with this aspect. The friend that I played with isn't a huge breaker, but hits them well, and his first break cleared the template, surprising us both. All I can say is that probably the balls all being frozen makes them more likely to move when the rack is struck well.

So on my first real use, I'm giving them a thumbs up. I hope to give them a more detailed test session soon. Thanks for letting me participate.

I just received a set I purchased today, havent used it yet. Anyone else have any NEW info about this rack?

I saw it being used at the Turning Stone tourney in Tenn. last weekend, but didnt hear Buddy Hall or anyone talking about it..good or bad.

Is it approved for sanctioned leagues and tourneys for BCA? ( the magic rack is... )

My first time using this rack was last weekend in Nashville Tn and im sorry its not that great and here is why.

To make a corner ball EVERY TIME all you have to do is hit the headball and the thing flys in. I mean you dont even have to try to make a good break shot just hit the thing and atleast 1 most times on a bartable ALOT more are falling. I had it done to me where i shot 3 times in a race to 11 ( 3 times including the lag which i lost by less than 1/4 inch ). Now on to how thick the rack is it actually let my opponent continue his break and runs when he would have been hooked had the ball he was going to shoot after the break rolled down table ran over the little legs sticking out and rolled right over to the bottom pocket for him to shoot. Now using this rack in a alternate break tourny might be ok but winner breaks is not good at all and i saw LOTS of players getting multipile racks put on them. Just my thoughts from using it this weekend. Oh and when anyone was in action i never saw this being used.

i will not comment on it anymore after this only to end with if i goto a tourny and its being used ill just quietly head right back out the door.

I will go on record saying Renfros rack are the best rack I've ever used.
Everyone that's used my set agrees
Great job Renfro and thanks for a great product.
