Are these cues any good? Are they all the cuetech kind or was there an older brand called excalibur? There is an old vintage one for sale and I wonder if it's worth the trip to check it out.

To my knowledge, they're only cuetec cues. And I don't think there's such a thing as a "vintage" fiberglass cue lol

The entire cue isn't worth the drive even if you're going to pick it up for free in my opinion.

I bought an Excalibur from a pawn shop once. (Cheap) Trust me, unless you're getting it for free, don't waste your time.

I used to play with one..

The one I had was an was ALL wood construction and even had inlays in the butt. I got it off of ebay about a year ago for like 45.00 but I vividly remember a website selling it for 125.00 brand new. I believe the cue was an early to mid 90's model...lol heres the left over pics of it after I made it into firewood..it had a bad rattle in it so I decided to retire it....

I got one off ebay for $40, and I have no complaints. It has a wood shaft, but whether or not it has the fibergalss insert I don't know. I do know it is straight, and I shoot as well with it as any other cue. I don't have any high dollar customs, but I do have a Meucci, and a McDermott. It's as good as the McDermott, and better than the Meucci.

I've got a few of those in stock.. I bought them for my very low budget customers. It's a playable stick, but its not a $125 stick, and definitely not $250. If you're in the market for a cue, come talk to me.

That seems reasonable, and i probably will eventually, but this one is local so I can actually check it out.

I would go look at it, but I would not pay $250 for it. There is NO WAY that cue is worth that much money. My dad shoots with an Excalibur and they are ok, but not $250 ok.

Take some pictures of it and post them on here after you look at it. Don't buy it as soon as you see it. I'm not sure if the Excalibur line has been around since the 70's either, but I don't think they have been. My dad's is a 90's model. $50 max is what I would pay for it and that's if it's perfect.

If the cue has had all that "new" work done to it it's not original, so I wouldnt touch it.

So I never went to go check the cue out but the guy posted it in the Seattle craigslist...I dunno if I'm allowed to post a link or not.
