..or a plea for understanding.

Well, it's not your first pool hall scuffle, nor Daz's....
..it may reflect on your soccer background..

Do you really think you can fight with Darren at QMasters and it won't be
discussed here?
AZ is a public forum with a high regard for freedom of expression.
Many of us applauded your 'going to the well' with Souquet but it doesn't
give you a an automatic 'get outta jail card'.

State your point of view.....and get a 'V-grip on yourself.

On your first point I agree, and it's why we, "can't have anything nice", around here. It is funny that some of the people who went out of their way to smear are now apologetic. But it is what they were aiming for, to drive people away. Congratulations.

I think everyone has gone through this on here b4. Lee, who cares what people think about your teaching or playing. Do what makes you happy and eff the haters. Dont let what people say about you become your identity. You know who you are. There are more people that say you can play well and teach well then those who say you cant.

If you leave the asshats will have won another one and that would be too bad. I honestly believe some people come here and start crap just because they have too much time on their hands. Like JAM, I've had to take a break from AZ because of some the absolutely ridiculous nonsense that goes on here from time to time. I've seen some the craziest stuff started here recently by whiners who have no clue what the game is all about. They've driven many players and instructors like yourself away when the rest of us wish you'd all stay.
It takes some tough hide to hang here sometimes.

This forum can be a gathering place for the biggest smart a$$es on the planet, but you know that. The things we read on here would never get said face to face. You had a problem. We all do things that get crazy sometimes. In the heat of the moment you go on instinct. It would be a loss for us if you stopped posting and hard for the teacher in you to quit.

The only way to delete an account is to have Mike Howerton or some other mod with the permissions to do it.

My advice is to let this blow over. It's not a big deal. Trust me when I tell you that I used to get books and videos frequently by people who honestly can't run three balls.

You can play, you can teach. Don't sweat it. But for future reference it's wise not to take too much credit for other people's victories. Not saying that this is what happened but it's really easy for things to get out of hand when talking about other people's accomplishments.

It's like Obama and his comment that if you have a business then you didn't build it alone. Technically he is right but emotionally he is dead wrong to say that. Those of us who have built our businesses know full well that we couldn't do it without the government infrastructure but we know that we didn't rely on government to help us either. I have given Kelly Fisher advice from time to time, strategy advice, training advice, motivational advice but I'd be remiss to go around and claim credit for her victories. I can only hope that something I have said or showed her was helpful, and pray that nothing I said was harmful. But the truth of it is that any championships she wins are 99.99% due to her willingness to put in the time and effort to develop and hone her skill. Those of us who help her along the way are just helpers along a path that she must follow. We would do the same for any player and hope that our influence helped in some way because we only meant it to be helpful.

But it's a tricky business to start taking credit where credit isn't given. If the person you helped doesn't acknowledge you then it can turn ugly if you take the credit you feel you deserve. I know this from experience.

Best is to not push the issue because it can only turn out badly. So stop feeling sorry for yourself and look instead to the many people who have praised your work so far. It's courageous to write a book or make a video without titles behind you. Even for the people I mentioned above who can't run three balls it still takes courage.

Now either your work is good and people get help from it or it's crap and people say that. So far just about everyone who has reported on your book and video has had positive things to say. Focus on that and move on is my advice.

Well in my time away I have learned to be nicer. So now I am probably less fun to argue with. I decided to try the killing with kindness approach and so far it's working. I haven't allowed myself to be baited into invective yet and it's definitely providing for a nicer climate. And I can get some sleep.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out; just e-mail Mike Howerton and I am sure he will be happy to delete your account. Or, more easily, just don't log into the site anymore.

Not logging into the site is a mucher simpler method, btw.

You had a fight... We all jumped the gun and ran our yappers about it and chased the sensational headlines over the truth at times...

But look at it this way... You played in your first US Open.... You beat a hall of famer.... You did some of the best commentary of the whole tournament....

You had a great tournament and this was neither your or Darren's first rodeo... Hell if this happened in England and not the US noone would have called the cops and you guys likely would have had a pint or 2 by the end of the night.....

AZ is like a poolhall or Snooker club... We let all types in here.... Never forget that and the forum is easier to deal with....

I think a break is in order until things die down but I think the forum is better off with you in it and you may be as well.... Your desire to teach requires you reach people... AZ is effective in that and I think you have even made a friend or 200 in your time here....
