points and recut points

im not a cue maker so could someone explain this description of a cue

how are can you have "normal" points AND recut points???

sorry if this is obvious to you

but obviously i have alot to learn about how a cue is made.....:embarrassed2:
but still trying to learn.....

I read what Murray wrote in that forum a while back and it's a wealth of info. Didn't thank Murray then but I'd like to say a huge thank you for taking the time to compile those few threads on cue anatomy...

I really appreciate the explanations. I have learned so much over the years here.

Style and artistic value aside, it is certainly possible to combine traditional veneered points with re-cuts and also CNC cut pockets....all in one.


Combining methods for interesting effects is the territory of the skilled craftsman and artist. What really amazes me is when we see something done that astounds us as far as how it might have been done. Once in a while something comes along that stumps even the experienced cue makers. I love those "How in the heck did he do that?" cues.
