i was looking at the dates of this event, Jan 10-13, does anyone know if the bonus ball "pros" are going to be playing or playing bonus ball?

America's two best players and only two automatic Mosconi Cup qualifiers, Shane Van Boening and Mike Dechaine, will be there.

Van Boening just won the US Open and Dechaine was the winner at the recently played Turning Stone XIX, as well as the iwnner of the OCean Stae Championships in November.

Turning Stone will be a great event with or without the Bonus Ball crew on hand.

Only half of the 12 Bonus Ball teams are scheduled to play Bonus Ball matches that week. So, in theory, half of the players do not have a conflict.

But quite a few players on the other 6 BB teams (the ones that do have conflicting BB matches) frequently do play at Turning Stone, so it will be interesting to see what they do. They would have to finish pretty high at Turning Stone (top 4?) to cover expenses plus the forgone $1,000 from BB.

Not to mention, Turning Stone is a points event, and factors into next years Mosconi Cup race, too. This would be one they might not want to skip...

Good point. And I think over half of the players on the 6 BB teams with matches that week have played on Mosconi Cup teams.

But do we know yet which events will be Mosconi-Cup-points events for 2013?

I see a lot of posts about how important it is to get points for the Mosconi Cup.

What does the winning team get? How about the losing team?

I think from a money stand point the cup is like 15K to win per player and 7.5K per player for the losing team.

This tournament I would venture to say is not all about the money, it is the fact you are chosen to represent your countries in a world match situation. Something the players that are selected take very seriously.

If i'm way off here someone chime in lol.

I don't know about this year, but your numbers are correct for 2009-2011 -- $15,000 per person for the winning side and $7,500 per person for the losing side. For 2007 and 2008, it was $20,000/$10,000. In 2006 when the teams tied, everyone got $15,000.
