Turning Stone has a different look this time.

I only see DeChaine and SVB from the Mosconi cup team playing... I would have expected Archer, Shuff and Hatch there as well fighting for points...

Based on this years performance everyone but SVB and Archer needs to worry about making it back... If ANY American player finishes higher than Shuff, Hatch or DeChaine they should get the nod... Stevie Moore finished higher than Shuff or Hatch and in hindsight may have been a better pick than either.....

Also notable names not playing in this years Turning Stone event:

Mika Immonen

Looks like the 2013 points race may start out with some of our better players sitting on the porch....

With the exception of a large handful of folks it is looking like it is moving back to becoming a regional event

I wonder why?
 
Maybe it's just economics.... I think Archer, Putnam, Hennessee, and a few more will be at the Music city Open Jan 16th-20th headed for DCC.. from a financial and even physical standpoint TS is less practical for players coming out of the south on the way to DCC....

Based on this years performance they are all in trouble except Johnny.
 
day 4 second chance event

Mike sent an email stating there will be a 32 player event Sunday at 10 am. 60 dollsrs, first come first served as players are knocked out of tge main event, single elimination, 2 sets race to 4 and a 1 game tiebreak if needed. it shoukd move alibg quickly and gice the people more of what they want, good evenys to play in and watch. Just a terrific event for those in the Northeast, FREE ADMISSION for spectators.

As far as pro pool goes, it is too fragmented to suceed anymore. I would be happy to see more events for advanced amatures, so if the top pros dont make it, just more chances for guys like me.

As far as how the team was picked SVB and DeChaine got in on points and the other 3 were selected by matchroom and they stated that points did play a part in the decisions.....

We know Matchroom will take the top BCA points earners like they always do... What we never know is where they draw the line... TOP 2 this year was top 3 last year... Hell if Earl finishes number 1 they may not even use the points......

My prediction is SVB and Dechaine in the final. Smart move on both of them to play in the TS

I see they took down the list. Hmmm. Maybe some top players are getting put in???

I will say this. There will be at least 2 and maybe 3 NEW BCA points events this year!!

Nice catch.... I knew there were differences in BCA points vs WPA because of added money and sanctioning fees but in the past I thought the BCA and Matchroom lists were the same..I was wroong worng wongr errr you get the picture.. I also note BCA has DCC and Southern Classis as points events and they are buy back format so Matchroom may or may not use them....

No Archer? He is a 6 time TS Classic champion. This bonus ball and ABP bull shit is going too far. Mike Zuglan refused to seed, no doubt this is part of the reasoning.

Also where is. Dennis Hatch going to be in 3 weeks??? If he ever had a chance to win this event, this would be it.

Its all good, us Northeast bangers dont mind having a chance to place higher , and play in thecbest venue available.

I think a lot of people pay their entries early but might not be able to make it. Don't be surprised if several of the top guys end up in the field from cancelled spots.

If they aren't high on the waiting list, they dont get in.Mike treats all players tge same, no favoritism, even for top pros. There is only 2-3 cancels, unless we have a bad winter storm.
