I will be in Chicago Feb 17-19 for business. I was wondering what pool rooms are in the area. I am staying at the Conrad Hotel. Are there any tournaments/action etc.. at these rooms?

Thanks in advance

Red Shoes Billiards. Plenty of action.Nice poolroom with good tables. John B.

Near the Conrad Hilton:

City Pool Hall
640 W Hubbard (about 1 mile)

G-Cue Billiards
157 N Morgan (about 2 miles)

Red Shoes is better than both of these, but is also 20+
miles away in Alsip (a southwest suburb)

Chris's is the most well known place, but a little shabby:
4637 N Milwaukee (about 7 miles)

And probably a $60 rt cab ride. (more?)

Thanks for all the help so far. Any tournaments on Sunday or Monday nights? Pref. Monday nights since my flight gets in Sunday around 5:30 and then I have to check into the hotel and everything.

The only tournaments I know of currently is a 9 ball on the big table at Chris's on Sunday nights at umm 8pm I think... As far as pool halls/action

Chris's - MAYBE if you can get one of the mexicans or filipinos to play you, but if they don't know you then it might be tough.

Red Shoes- Tons of 1 hole and banks action here, its your best bet for a game.

Chris's 2 - Decent small room, 5 Diamons BB's and 1 nice gold crown. Cheap beer too, and you can take the El out there. Not much for action though.

Main Street Billiards - Really nice room, tons of Brunswick GC's in good shape. Some action there, and if there isn't anyone in there Big Mike can prolly call someone up for ya. Only problem is, it is out in the suburbs, around 45 mins from the City.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info!

Never been to G, doubt there is any action there. City, you might get a game if you go on a night they have leagues.

GQ is more upscale than City...all 9' Gabriels with plenty of room. Tables are crowded at City, imo. Doubt there's action at either place. Both have $12/hr table time. Both have decent food (GQ is a little better there too).

To the OP...Just so ya know, the Conrad HILTON is the original Hilton hotel, in the chain. The penthouse comes with it's own 9' pool table! Maybe you can upgrade?

I might try to upgrade in that case and the action can come to me.
