Cue Appraisal

I may be looking to sell my cue, which is an older huebler "fast eddie" edition. I was stopped in a random pool hall and someone asked me what I was doing with this stick in there, and he called out exactly what I had before he even touched it and said it was worth $5,000... I am sure he was exaggerating, but it did peak my interest of how much it is worth. If anyone knows anyone who has knowledge of these older cues, and is preferably in the Forth Worth, TX area, please let me know. My number is 817-995-4310. Thanks!

$350-$500, there was one sold here not too long ago for $275 i believe. I may be incorrect thought. I dont have a lot of knowledge with this cue. I am sure someone will chime in.

i was thinking the same thing, i would take 300 for it, and be happy
 
I think what we are hearing is not far off, but it depends on condition as well.

One of the things we see often on things like Ebay sales is that somebody take a cue to the local pool hall for an "appraisal". Actually most people you will find in any particular pool hall are not experts on such matters. Very often we see wildly inflated values from such "appraisals".

It's a cool cue, and Hueblers are appreciating. I was very lucky to get a good deal on a very nice one myself recently, about an 80/81 cue. It's a keeper.

I appreciate the input on what You guys might think it may be worth, but it doesnt answer my question of if anyone knows anywhere in the DFW area that I Could go get it appraised at.
 
IMHO it's not something that is actually worth a formal appraisal.


Feel free to try that route though. Most antique dealers won't know anything about such a thing (it isn't even an antique) and most of the ones that claim to know really don't (they look it up in the bluebook, which is a terrible source for values). Most cue dealers that do appraisals don't actually deal in such cues, they deal in collectible cues of substantially higher value and this one most likely won't get much attention from them.

Many people here that actually do know won't say. I leaned my lesson a while ago. I generally don't address the value issue because almost invariably somebody gets upset with reality.

Honestly, most cues worth formal appraisal have shafts worth more than that entire cue.

I don't mean to diminish the cue, as I said it is a very cool cue.

I honestly have no problem with it being a cue that only is worth a few hundred dollars... and if thats the case, then it'll go to the grave with me. I love the cue. However, if it WAS worth a lot of money, I would be selling it and getting something else instead, for I wouldnt want to be playing with such an expensive cue and risk damaging it or losing it or lowering its value one way or another. Thanks for everyones help. Looks like my favorite cue will get to stay in my bag :wink:

Unfortunately, it is NOT worth a lot of money and deserves to go to the grave with you. The information given earlier is very accurate, and at least a few of the people who spoke up and offered value information were subject matter experts who have the knowledge and experience to know a cue's value.

Play with it, take care of it, and take it to the grave with you.

These guys know what they are talking about. But if you want proof here is some. Your cue is Model FE-2 and level 3 cue. The value is 300 give or take 75 depending on value. Hope this helps. Hang on to it and it will go up in value a little but not like the Huebler Custom Shops.

I'm sure Paul Hueblers lawyers will be filing a massive lawsuit against AZB for that copyright infringement first thing tomaro morning, as they stand to suffer great harm from misuse of their images, LOL just kidding :eek::):)


On a serious note I have heard of a couple big Huebler collectors in Tx, who have over 100 cues each. problem is I cant refer you cause I know of them, i dont know them. they are going up a hair in price. The other posts on this thread are accurate IMO, I know it might seem hard to believe but this place is the market that establishes cue values more so than anywhere else. This is the market nowadays. Ebay isnt as people there make mistakes, the smart $ guys are here for the most part, from $100-$50,000 cues.
