For haunting my dreams. I just heard of straight pool when I joined the board, so I took a gander. I've watched hours of videos from you guys on your great runs and I read over the rules(cause I prefer to do things right). Needless to say this can be a difficult game. I'm assuming its not really a run unless you pocket 15 balls but so far I can get to 8. Usually get tied up trying to leave the 15th ball for the break looking too far ahead. Oh we'll it's a fun game to play solo and I look forward to improving!
 
Wrong. I just ran a 6 a little while ago. However, it could have been an 86 if I didn't screw it up.

A hundred ball run is just a bunch of little 8's !
 
Straight pool is the most amazing game pool has to offer.... and it is EXTREMELY difficult.

Running out a more or less open 9 ball rack is pretty easy compared to a often clustered table where you have to play good patterns to get to your break ball.

Id suggest you to look up on youtube for the 14.1 world tournament.... nice passtime ;)
 
I am also interested in playing 14-1, too bad I do not know anyone who plays it. I guess I will just try for high runs, which is ok with me.
 
Gonna try and get out tonight for a bit. Once I get the cable for my camera I can get a vid going so you guys can pick it apart and get some advice flowing through the empty space between my ears

I see you are from NW Indiana. Whereabouts? That's not too far from me. 20 minutes to the border. We have two guys in our Red Shoes League that live in Indiana and one in our IBC league from Indiana.

You ought to take a short trip up here. We're having a straight pool tournament Saturday at Red Shoes and we have had plenty of Indiana guys come up and play in them.
 
ill try to do that one time, originally i was from griffith which is about ten-20 from ill border and then i moved about a half hour east but i will be headed up to red shoes when they have that get together in feb.

We can get a game of 14.1 in then, if you like. We can live stream it too and let our peeps on the 14.1 subforum point and laugh at my patterns and compliment you on yours. ;)
 
I would love that! now mind you my best "run" so far is 8 but im usually consistent areund 5 or 6 if i can just safety my way around i might give you a small bit of competition
