many poolfans have plenty of money.
they buy a table and a couple cues and they dont need anything else.
i have a couple serious other hobbies golf ,street and dirt bikes,guns.
i spends money on green fees,gloves,balls,clubs etc. oil,gas,tires,etc. bullets everytime u shoot etc.
thats why the pros in those other sports have money trickle down because if your into those hobbies u have to spend way more money to play.
so companies sponsor those pro events and players because they r trying to get u to buy belray or lucas oil,or federal ammo instead of winchester.
or titleist balls instead of calloway.
in pool u need cloth every 5 years on a home table,a stick once a lifetime.thats why theres little money in pool for companies.
now if people needed cloth once a month,cue every year,and new table ever year pool companies would thrive .proplayers would make way more too.
snooker pays because those promoters were smart enough to make product out of players and sell players with charisma,flare etc and have millions watch them win ,lose,etc. it also doesnt hurt that snooker always plays the same game and is televised. that will never happen in pool sadly.
anyway yes sponsors r missing the boat with pool. theres many of u and many of you have money to spend but nothing to spend on in pool.
its funny i always read propools dying because how the players act. what a joke.
i go to a hockey game and people go crazy when they fight,bullriding,nascar,
ufc,football,mcenroe in tennis.
wwf, reality shows,etc etc. get my drift until pool promoters have us players punching and screaming at each other not many people r gonna care or watch.
people say oh that pro sharked that pro because he said something or complained lol.. ever seen a nba game,football game more trash talking then u can imagine. people luv it and tune in.
pool promoters want to have us play in dress shirts,never say a word ,nod our heads and say good shot etc. yeah that will be a big seller.
pools broke actually because the pros behave way too much.
put me on tv with harriman,mic me up and trust me sponsors would go ,dang theres some serious drama thats good tv.
