Got $1,200 to spend

Welcome to AZ!

I only have 3 advice for you:

1) Take your time and try as many cues as you can!

2) Do research, lots and lots of research. The For Sale section gives you a pretty good idea what you're cue might be worth used...

3) For most parts whoever that wants to sell you something will always speak dam well of their cue..

$1200 is a very very good budget for a cue. Good luck with your search!

Too

Are those TOI shafts warped to the right or left?
Or does it depend on which way you hold it?

You might be confusing the TOI shafts with the TOO (touch of outside) LDs.
With those shafts, you will miss NOTHING! I repeat, you will NEVER miss!

The only drawback (pun intended) is that it only works when your opponent isn't looking.

The TOO shafts are $475 each and comes with a free Loofa.

subjectivity alert!

I have not read this thread but that won't stop me from sharing my opinion.

Be prepared to hear many different answers since this is very subjective.

So;

Hands down, if it were me, here's what I would do:

Player: A Jeff Olney cue with his 'never fail' phenolic joint can be had in the approx $800 range and imo, it is the absolute best bang for anyone's buck.

Breaker: A Predator BK2 with either a samsara or white diamond tip. An excellent used one can be had for $225 and new maybe $325.

Purchase wisely and you'll have a couple hundred left over for a nice Lomax or Jacoby jumper.

You will then, just like me, be all done with equipment excuses. :o

Please keep in mind that what I like (or anyone else for that matter) may not be what you like and if possible, go to an event like the upcoming sbe, where you can try literally thousands of cues prior to purchasing.

GL!
And welcome to az.

Check the link in my Signature.

Keith Kustoms.

Almost no wait time by comparison to most.

He builds a cue based on your budget, and what you WANT in a cue.

I think you can get a damn nice player and breaker for less than the $1200 mark your looking at spending. I think you can get something similare to the pick below for like $700-800 w/ 2 shafts.

best,

Justin

I have a newer Moochy that you could steal from me for $1,200
...comes with a Western Family 1x2 case and TOI shaft.

I only accept paypal and please send as a gift.

I really hate it when I see someone ask to send through Paypal as a gift. There is literally no protection for the buyer when a payment is sent as a gift. Unless you know the person and know they wont mess with you this should never, ever be done.

I understand people want this done so they dont get charged through Paypal but that is just part of the game if you want to use Paypal.

Cue

If you want to get bang for your buck, Give Bob Owen of Shurtz Custom Cues a try. He makes a great player, and I have known Bob for over 30 years, let alone his two sons, Gabe and Robert. He has a short turn around time. Bob@Shurtzcue.com

I am having Bob make me another cue in a couple of months.

You can buy my 2nd cue

You can buy my 2nd cue the first one is out for bids. Due 12/2013

Got $1,200 to spend on a playing cue or preferably a playing cue and a break cue..

Anyone got any recommendations?

Jacoby makes a real nice cue, and I love the way they play. The only downside is resale value should you decide to sell it at some point. If this concerns you then you may be better off to explore something along the lines of Josey, Kikel and a slew of other one man shops.

Love my Josey...great player. The best part was dealing with Keith & his wife. Just darned nice folks who do what they say they'll do.

Cue

I heard Steve klapp is back up and running now after the relocation, he builds a jam up cue that is custom built to your needs.
Can't wait to see all the nucues that are to come out of his shop soon'
