"Greenies"

OK, I did a search for "greenies" and "green rep" and got nada. I have a bunch that I don't know how I got or what to do with them.

Are they like the S&H green stamps Mom used to get at the Grand Union? Do they have a specific retail value? Should I spend them now and get a new Ginacue, or hold out for a cube of designer chalk?

Seriously, how do you go about giving these out to folks? Some of mine have changed color and are now gray. I thought they might be going out of code, but these are the newest ones, so they should still be fresh.

Anyway, I did do a search, so sorry if this question has been asked before.

There is a little button on the lower left hand corner of the post. (maybe upper right hand on your version) when you hover over it it reads "add to this persons reputation" or something to that effect.

It has no value other than being a private way to let someone know what you thought of their post.

To give rep, on the left side of the post below the section with the user name there are 2 squares, one with a blue bar and one with a red bar. Clicking the blue one will allow you to give reputation, selecting either that you approve or disapprove of the post. You can also include a short message with your rep.

If you click on User CP under the AZBilliards logo at the top of the page, you will see the rep you have received along with any messages people may have sent accompanying the rep. In practice, it allows people to send a quick, short message to an individual regarding their post.

As a side note/suggestion to posters who may not know this...

There's more than one "style" by which this VBulletin software displays itself. I FAR prefer a different one than the default. If you click the lower left most box and choose AzBilliards Vb 3 style, I think you'll ebjoy a more stimulating visual experience.

BTW, the gray "greenies" are those from posters that have little reputation points, but do indicate they approved of your post. The red ones on the other hand are typically dished out by angry little gnomes. ;)

The gray reps are from new posters who can't give greenies, spockets.

I personally think the concept of 'greenies' is a plot by vegans and eco-freaks
to achieve world domination.
But I'm gonna give you one..just don't think I'm one of 'them'.

I think grey reps can be reds as well. I've had a few that would have been red, judging by their accompanying 'angry little gnome' comments lol.

O'Rlly??? Interesting... Now, why would any new gray boxer ever have the motivation to "red-gray" you Thaiger? ;) J/K

KK9 <-- the first rep whore to max out the system, beating Fatboy to the bunch by a couple days lol

I was told, when I first joined, that for every one billion greenies I accrued I would receive an AZ tee-shirt. Well, so far I'm naked as a freakin' Jay bird.

Dude, you've gotten more mileage outta not getting your purportedly owed T-shirt than I have outta my 1980 Gremlin. I mean, if you ever did get one, what would there be left to talk about? ;) lmao

KK9 <-- going to check his mailbox for an AZ package for the 976th straight day

LOL, made me chuckle at work. My Dad drove a 1971 Gremlin. He loved that lil thing, but his coworkers gave him tons of shit about it.
I thought they stopped making em in 76' or 77'?

They still make lots of Gremlins....but they are mostly seen on pool tables..
...when people are playing under pressure.

And will somebody ship the Tramp a t-shirt?
..I'd ship him one of my used ones, but they're still wet...
...the damn dryer is on the fritz.

Green rep and red rep both show up as gray if the person giving it has fewer than 50 posts.

How many times I gotta 'splain it?
