Looking to buy a kress spindle. Was wondering if there were any other options someone might suggest. looking for it to be "plug and play". Will be used for construction, not inlays. Thanks:thumbup:

Wood cuts a lot cleaner with spiral carbide end mill that with boring bar.
Also a lot less pressure/push-off when turning for tenons.
Wood comes out like they've been shaved.

It may give the best results but it comes with a trade off. It is very unforgiving and adds unnecessary hazards. Dust, noise and the potential to get bit by the cutter. A single point cutting tool with proper geometry can do a spectacular job of turning wood. The only time It really pays to use live tooling is in the threading or final taper turning IMO.
