I recently have had a cuemaker fix a tip that mushroomed. I purchased the tip from him and gave 40 dollars total to have it installed. When it mushroomed it took it to him to fix. Upon fixing the tip he explained that he must sand the ferrule some as well. I expressed that I wasn't in favor of that. He then explains its the only way. The ferrule is ivory by the way. After fixing mushroom tip, I again play with it and only a day or so later it mushrooms again. I take it back to him again. He again fixes the mushroomed tip in the same manner. Upon receiving it I noticed that the ferrule looked pointed. Therefore I put a mic on it and sure enough the tip is 12.2mm and the shaft side of the ferrule is 13mm. When I bring it to the cuemakers attention he says I need a new ferrule and has the nerve to try and sell me a new ivory ferrule my original ivory ferrule was perfect until he worked on it. Just want some opinions on whether I'm out of line for thinking he should replace my ferrule with no charge since he messed it up.
