Pro One Aiming with Visuals Called Out

A shout-out to Gerry -- nicely done video and instructive approach! Gerry's well-spoken, non-droning, and "gets right to it" when describing how to execute the system on each shot. In this case, brevity really helps to cut through the chatter I've found in other "here's how I do this aiming system" videos. (Of course, one needs to have viewed Stan's video first, to know what Gerry's referring to when he says e.g., "edge to 'C', left pivot.")

very nice shooting sir !!! But i think your visual intelligence guides you in many shots. Of course this is what i think, and i would never say that i am a pro one master. For example, i think it is impossible to make the last 9 ball using aim point b. Maybe i can't see that angle because of the camera. But i think it is an ''aim point a'' shot. I would also like to know if you can make a dead straight in shot at cb-ob distance about 4,5 diamonds using aim point c and left pivot.

Can you elaborate on how you know if it is a left or right pivot and how you perform the air pivot?

I would say experience is the best way...I experimented and with Stan's support was able to figure it out. I would say the majority of the sweeps are in the direction of the cut but not all.

When we need to thicken a shot up for example the sweep is not obvious - it will become second nature with table time.

There is no formula but over time you will recognize which sweep is required.

I was wondering, how was your shot accuracy before you started using Pro 1? What was your average ball run on a rack of 9 ball prior to learning Pro 1?

In regards to the single line shooting. How do you see the correct spot for the cue placement at CCB. Its cb edge to A, correct ? if using manual cte, do you line up one tip to the right of that line and pivot to ccb ?
 
Not sure I understand your question. For a single line visual A/C or 1/8 the centre of the cue ball is outside the object ball which is why we have 1 line. CB edge to A/C or 1/8 overlap. The manual pivot direction will depend on the shot.

Gerry, I think he is asking where does V in the bridge hand go for one line visuals.

V in bridge hand goes to the left or right of the CTEL for left or right sweep, but where does it go for one line visuals, where there is no CTEL.

Is this your question JE54?
 
I simply get my visual - edge to C for the left cut. Then I move to centre cue ball with Pro One - I don't think about anything else.

If I was using CTE manual I would move straight in 1/2 tip offset to the left and pivot to centre. My eyes lead me into the shot.

Maybe Stan can address this question better than me :)
 
Those shots and the 1/8 ball overlap give me the most trouble. Even in the dvd the 1/8 ball isn't mentioned until the pro 1 section. So Iim just trying to clarify with cte and Pro 1 where do you put your bridge hand ?
Stan shows the string across the table and explains the pivot an sweep by the ctel, but unless I have missed it somewhere the 1/8 isn't talked about.
I just want to get it right and quit being unsure.

All shots are the same in CTE PRO ONE.

Every shot at ball address whether a 2 line CTE visual or a single line thin or extremely thin shot is based on a fixed cue ball.

In manual for a 1/8 overlap extremely thin shot, move directly straight in to the CB as humanly as possible based on your fixed cue ball and then execute your 1/2 tip left or right pivot to CCB.

In PRO ONE you simply do a left or right visual sweep to CCB once you have your fixed CB.
