I'm in line with the OP. I purchased an ebay DP back in September. The cue looked great and played great. After two months of play, I noticed a sound in the tip when I made contact. I called Dale since his number is public knowledge and his response was "it's probably a loose tip and if you pay to ship it back to me, I'll fix it. However, it's probably better just to have someone else fix it local to you." This kind of suprised me.
I took it to a local cue repair facility. They looked it over and found out the tip was separating from the ferrule, the ferrule was loose and the joint sleeve was loose. Of course I had them repair it but it was definately not what I expected out of a new cue from someone with Dale's knowledge. It's almost laughable that he puts a $1700 MSRP on each ebay listing. I still have the cue in my case so if anyone thinks the DP is such a great deal, I'm more than happy to part with it for exactly what I won the auction for ($172.50 plus shipping). With an MSRP of $1700, you can hardly go wrong!!!
