Read this guys Dale Perry ebay description.

I'm in line with the OP. I purchased an ebay DP back in September. The cue looked great and played great. After two months of play, I noticed a sound in the tip when I made contact. I called Dale since his number is public knowledge and his response was "it's probably a loose tip and if you pay to ship it back to me, I'll fix it. However, it's probably better just to have someone else fix it local to you." This kind of suprised me.

I took it to a local cue repair facility. They looked it over and found out the tip was separating from the ferrule, the ferrule was loose and the joint sleeve was loose. Of course I had them repair it but it was definately not what I expected out of a new cue from someone with Dale's knowledge. It's almost laughable that he puts a $1700 MSRP on each ebay listing. I still have the cue in my case so if anyone thinks the DP is such a great deal, I'm more than happy to part with it for exactly what I won the auction for ($172.50 plus shipping). With an MSRP of $1700, you can hardly go wrong!!!

DP cues

I am going to buy a Dale Perry off ebay and check it myself. I am a self proclaimed expert in these matters and my word will be the final say so for the entire world.

I've got three, i bought to find out what they were all about. Which one do you want to buy?

not defending the maker, but....

As with 'hit', the level of workmanship in a cue that one finds acceptable/pleasing, is also subjective.....

Not with a 10 foot pole

It's funny that the guy who bought 50 DP's also has a closet full of phillipino cues. I think of them as one in the same. For that amount of money he could have had a Herceck, Sugartree, R Black, BB, etc. I think he should have went for quality over quantity. I bet he would love to open that closet and have just one really nice collector cue in there.

I'm calling BS on the seller. I have few ebay DP's and one of high end DP. I think the wraps are a good aspect of DP cues. The cue for sale has been neglected or tampered with.

Young kid I play with sometimes has a Dale Perry he was real proud of it bought it new. He has had it ~6 weeks the wrap started coming undone already. I quality linen wrap job should last a long time.

you guys are making me want to sell my Lambros and buy a DP!

No but seriously, I had one experience with a DP. Bought it off ebay for about $150 played with it for about 6 months and replaced it with something...not sure what...I've owned too many cues. I sold it on ebay to someone in Europe for $350. I have no idea why they paid that much but it was a good looking cue...and it did play ok.

I think DP has one of the best hitting cues on the market.
The one I own is flawless, I looked at some customs but none hit any better.
There are several DP where I play and no one has anything bad to say about them at any price . Most people talking sh1t don't even own one there just listening to az BS

Yes, we "az'ers" don't nothing because we don't own a DP. But here you are STATING that a DP cue is the best hitting cue on the market. !!

I guess that must be some of the the old "az BS" as you say !!

I bought them off Ebay probably at least 5 or 6 years ago. I saw a couple people using Dale Perry cues at a couple tournaments and I thought they were nice. They told me they spent around $700 for theirs, so I thought I was getting a good deal and kept buying them. It was an investment similar to investing in commodities. I lost $13,000 quick in that!

Oh heck...that's nothing...around the same time I was buying up all the cues from the Philippines and now I have a closet full of them that I haven't seen in years. They are just there. LOL...I'm afraid to look at them. They all might be warped. I mean...even when they were new they were rarely straight.

Well, start putting them on Ebay, and sell them now while you can. I mean, if you can recoup lets say $5K, you can go get yourself a top tier cue, that will be a stunner to look at, and will most likely appreciate in the years to come...... or you could buy TWO Cues from a slighlty lesser name, but still great quality and design like Blackcreek, Carmeli, Nitti, etc., and play with one, and put the other away.... but my god man, clean out your closet :)

Maybe the quality sunk. I'm only judging by what I own. I'm not endorsing DPs. I'd never buy another.

Do you think I should sell my 30 Joss cues and 75 Meucci cues too?

I probably have close to 30 McDermitt and almost all the Harley Davidson cues too. Also have a couple Diamond cues, Sigel/Varner, old Helmsteters, and many more. My house is a warehouse of cues, cases and other stuff.

Yes, I'm a hoarder and it's not fun. Very depressing!:(

Dude, I thought you were "nuts" having 50 DP's, but 75 Meucci's qualifies for an intervention :) or a straight jacket ;)

The old saying is collect quality, not quanity........

Where the hell u store all of those cues ???

LOL, That's exacrtly why I said we need to see a pic of that closet. I wanna see that much firewood stored in one closet.

Way too much for one closet! I have cues in every room of the house except for the kitchen and bathroom.:frown:

Three years ago my girlfriend had to move out 'cause there wasn't enough room for her.:yeah::help:

I sent some pictures to Wright Shot...maybe he can come on and comment.

I don't know how to post pictures. I signed up with photobucket but still can't figure out how to show them. I'm just slow and old. Tough to teach an old dog new tricks.

No he does not. Pay attention. That is listed as the "Dealer Price", not "MSRP". Go check his ads if you like.

He has cut out the dealers, ticked them off in fact. This looks like a simple message for them I think.
