How close is the nearest 10 foot pool table to you?

No idea ...but minimum 2 hours, as I've been to just about every room within that distance.

I would not travel far to play on one. I probably wouldn't play on one even if it's 5 minutes away, because I feel this return-of-10-footers thing is just a passing fad. There's this whole subculture of players on AZB who think pool (all forms of it) is just too easy, as if they run 15-packs routinely and therefore need to add extra challenge so they don't fall asleep. So they hype up bigger tables and smaller pockets, it's almost like they want to make pool sort of a macho straight-shooting pissing contest.

I don't think it would do anything to my game, except frustrate me because I will miss more than I would on a 9ft.

20 minutes because that's how long it takes to get to my local poolroom. Their 10 footer is a converted Brunswick snooker table, and I like to practice on it mostly because it has new cloth but playing actual games on it isn't very fun.

A guy that plays in our league has one, but recently moved into a smaller space and cant set it up.

He told me they were hoping to be in a bigger spot in the future, so maybe....

Do you think it would help or hurt your game playing on one?

It would do both, just like playing overly tight tables.

I grew up within 40 minutes of ten foot tables and went twice in my adult life. I dont remember it being so attractive, but it was a good experience (which is different than making an assumption with no experience).

The Diamond 10' tables... They're tough. And I've shot balls on them. So I'd say if one was close, I'd probably visit it twice in my adult life. But unless it was in town, I wouldn't drive an hour to torture myself more than that two times. If it was in town, it might become my favorite table.

Freddie <~~~ tortured enough on bar tables

No idea and no idea.

In fact the "local" 3C tables around here have even been taken out in favor of additional smaller tables.

Upstairs in the bonus room! And it does improve your game.

30 minutes - Executive Billiards 52nd and Keystone Indianapolis. Gold Crown 10 footer big pockets. Really like hitting some balls on it when I am there but it does not play like a new Diamond Bigfoot 10 footer. They also have a 10' snooker they use a lot for golf. I do drill on that sometimes with pool balls. Good for my eye. I like the 10' tables. I also played some on the Diamond Bigfoots both in Tunica and at this last Derby. They are the nuts again Diamond is turning out the gold standard equipment.

I think people who play on a 10 footer find holes in their games they do not know exist. I would reccomend the 10 footer if you can get on one especially a good one.

In Rochester, roughly five hours away in most every direction. If Best Billiards still has their 5 x 10, about ten minutes in Vegas traffic.

Honestly think this table size has become irrelevant. Curiosity at most.
Admire those who play well on the table.

Micheals in Fairfield Ohio has one, but I've yet to shoot on it. I love the 9 foot Diamonds at Kickshots. Not sure what my game would look like on a 10ft

We had a ten foot American snooker table at the local hall and only 20 percent of the hard core pool players ever used it, and none of the hacks.

The owner took it out and is trying to sell it for 1500 bucks.

Unless there is a regular group of guys paying hourly to play golf on it, I've never seen a room with a 10 footer keep it for long.

It helps to be at least a 6-footer (you, not the table)

Hi,

I am fortunate that it's 40 feet away, in the garage.

You get a healthy respect for the players of the 1920s and 1930s, when the stature of most men and women was considerably shorter than that of today. So tough to reach so many shots....

Take care,
Nick

Probably within 2 miles of my house. In a retirement community and somewhat private room as well. Very nice practice environment. It's a snooker table but I just throw regular balls out on it and practice. Going back to a <9 ft table is really rewarding. With the snooker pockets you learn to hit balls clean, clean, cleeeean. That thud when you hit the true back of the pocket is a wonderful sound.
