The Road to the US Open

Being a B player, I'm not totally familiar with all the major open/pro events that go on in the US. I would like to make a "Road Map" of the biggest/most prestigious 9 ball tournaments throughout the country, preferrably starting with January, all the way through early October before the US Open. I would update said Road Map after each event, detailing the winner/runner up/payouts etc in simple graphics and in an engaging layout.

If you guys can help me out by listing the biggest events, that would be great. Could be something cool to hang in your poolroom. Thanks!
 
just off the top of my head: Turning Stone (winter), Derby, Swanee, Southern Classic, Turning Stone (summer), US Open.
 
I know you asked about 9-ball.

What is wrong with 10-Ball?
I would suggest the US OPen 10-Ball in July at the Rio.

And the US Open 9-ball might not be happening - so plan accordingly.

Here's a list of the BCA ranking tournaments. This is probably as close as you'll come to an official list.

The following events are official points events for the 2013 Calendar Year.

1) Turning Stone Classic XX
2) Derby City Classic 9-Ball
3) Ultimate 10-Ball
4) Southern Classic 9-Ball
5) US Open 10-Ball
6) US Open 8-Ball
7) Turning Stone Classic XXI

The BCA reserves the right to add additional events to this list if those events meet the event criteria required by the BCA.

how about:

music city open the week before derby

US Bartable in reno in Feb

white diamond bar table weekend event. dates change but in the early spring

superbilliard expo in march/april.
 
a few more:

Superbowl weekend tourny held every year at the Rack in Memphis Tenn. Usually about 5k added but huge field and excellent payout for a weekend event. 30k+ calcutta is not unusual.

4bears Classic yearly 8ball event. Yes its 8ball but they do also run a smaller 9ball event and its a 10k added tourny with a long history.

The Wyoming open end of march. 8k added bartable 8ball. Yes I know 8ball again but its 8k added and they have successfully run this event 5 years in a row. 6th event is advertised as 25k prize fund.

They're canceling this year? Whoa.

And I was mainly focusing on 9 ball, since that is the game at the US Open, but apparently there are too many other big events to pass up. Thanks Mark
