you'll need to work on it but it will come quite natural after a few hours.
Then each day you'll have to focus on it and it will get easier and easier.

After I worked with you I did a Perfect Aim clinic at Bank Shots here in louisville. It was great. Everyone had the same great results that you had.

A young gal named Katie was forcing her right eye to be dominant. This happens but not too often. Once I got her eyes in the right position she was shooting everything in. I know first hand that you know what I mean. Her teammates were almost in disbelief. So was she.

She told me it felt so weird. But the shots just kept going right in the hole.

That's so much fun........

Got fooled today by a dominant eye...........

I gave a lesson to Richard Oglesby in Louisville. This hasn't happened for a long time but I thought he was right eye dominant when he was left eyed.

We battled it out trying to make shots that he normally could just shoot in and finally we did the cuts to the right and the left and I saw the light. I knew then that we had it wrong.

Richard was a real trouper because that is real frustrating to have someone showing you something and it just isn't working.

Once we got on track the lesson was all about teaching him how to correct his cuts to the right being left eye dominant.

By the time we were done Richard was on the right page and I'm going to work with him a little more on Thursday to make up for the mixup.

This guy has allot of talent on the table and once he gets this eye thing right and more comfortable he will improve leaps and bounds.

Did a couple of phone lessons also with the same great results as possible.

The bad news was the door to the smoking deck was open so the smoke was coming right in on us. Only a couple of people smoking out there but I guess it doesn't take much. All plugged up and stuffed up and feel like crap.

Other than that it was a great day.

Any day that I can help one person is great. Today was a triple. And that's triple great.

Had some fun today and tonight..........

Went to Bank Shots tonight and played in their weekly 9 ball tourny.

Ended up with third. Brian Roberts took second. He's one of the best players in Louisville.

During the tourny Duke Laha asked me to play some downstairs and I told him no because one of the guys upstairs had bought me in the little calcutta.

Finally he came upstairs and with a little wait before my next match we played a race to 9 for just $30.

I'm ahead 4-2 when I had to play in the tourny again. I had to play steady now so Duke asked me if I'd settle for $10. I told him yes with a smile.

Then i was going to go but I thought I should play Brian some. I havn't hardly played in about a month and he would deffinitely give me a battle.

We played the first race to 9 and I won 9-6.

Then we went to play the second set and in walks the customers from hell. 3 guys and 3 girls. They all had to be talking at the top of their voices all the time. Most of the time at the same time. Then also they were in the way. Both ends of the 2 tables they were playing on were next to our table.

I really had to focus hard to play well and have a chance against Brian.

I never ran out the whole next set. It was like a side show next to us.

i told Brian I would play him another set but we would have to go downstairs. I'm ahead in that set 4-1 and shooting the 10 ball in on a fairly simple shot when I heard the guy upstairs that was one of the obnoctious brood screaming as he was talking pretty much.

I took my mind and eye off the ball and missed it. I ended up losing the set 9-7. I played not up to par for sure. Brian shot good.

I havn't been playing much and it's really hard to handle just normal distractions. These 6 people were off the charts as far as distractions.

I'm going to try and play Brian again tomorrow. I will play much better if i can start out with my focus and try to keep it. This is the biggest hurdle when you are trying to get playing again. Trying to handle distractions.

Anyway, I got some much needed practice and pretty much came out pretty even for the night.

Brian Roberts was tickled pink to have some action. Duke and Brian are really nice people to play. it was a real pleasure.

Got some lessons tomorrow and if I have enough energy i will be playing Brian again.

Jacoby is sending me one of their Hybrid shafts to try and I', pretty pumped about it. i used one at the state tourny in Wis about 1 yeear ago and thought it really played well. Can't wait to give it a real workout.

I will be reporting on my thread what I think.

I know this though.

They are always running out of these shaft. That ought to tell you something.

The smoke that I am dealing with in these supposed to be smoke free poolhalls is killing me.

I will never again go to a poolhall or any event where they allow smoking.

Is there any other sport in the world where smoking is allowed where they play?

Great tournament, great bar/poolhall, great owner mr Chris aalso the greatest calcutta man I have ever seen in my life.

Somehow these states in the southern USA need to get it right. the players there don't even like it for crying out loud.

There I go again.

Our industry has to help stop the killing of thousands of people and players from this concentration of smoke.

I hope it's not too late for me. I have some terrible trouble going on in my lungs for awhile now. I'm mad as hell about it!

And all because I wanted to teach and play a little pool in the south and enjoy some of the greatest tournys in the USA.

Someone should start up a thread some day in honor of all the players that have died from cancer. Just in the last 10 years the list would be huge.

I could start it out with about 25 that are right on the tip of my brain.

pretty sad. These young guys that can handle the smoke for now don't really know what it's doing to their bodies inside.

it's too bad we can't even protect people that really don't understand the full extent of the damage until it's too late.

But anyone that dies won't complain anymore. Pretty handy for some people, not all, that want to protect their habit and the ones that make money from the smoke.

Too bad we couldn't go to the cemetary and get some expert advice on the subject. Not fun.........Cancer.

The answer is no......absolutely no.

I'm going to Brickyard Billiards in Indy on the 23 and 24 of this month.

And I'm sending in my entry for Four Bears if they still have some spots tomorrow......

Suicide by long term exposure to smoke isn't murder....it's voluntary.

All those "necessary" laws...all those guns pointed at all those "uncaring" bar owners and "stupid and impolite" customers and still the problem exist (!!!) and still the solution is up to each player.

I'm young and really can't take the smoke either. It's not bad in Chris' place; but being there for 16 hours straight will have a negative affect. That's why I usually go outside once every couple hours.

Now that you mention it I do remember you saying something about the smoke last time.

At this point smoking won't deter me, but on the other hand if I were to ever open a place I would try my hardest at making it smoke free; or at least have a bunch of smoke eaters like at White Diamonds. It doesn't remove the smoke 100%, but it sure does help a ton.

Your enthusiasm for the game is unmatched for sure. Sometimes we drift away from just one thing that will hinder our aim.

Just give me a call and we'll do a double check. Won't need a discount because this is free.

We'll go through the Perfect Aim process and make sure it is as correct as it can be from top to bottom.

On the smoke end:

I went to a poolhall here to watch some action and sweat a bet around closing. As I walked into the place I saw the 2 players playing and once I got back there I got a big dose of smoke.

The owner was smoking and the one player was smoking. Needless to say I left. There were a few other peiople smoking also.

It's pretty sad when it's a non smoking city and you have to fade this. Just walking in there and breathing the smoke for 10 minutes really brings down the health.

Today I feel like I have a hangover.

Maybe the answer is to just quit playing and teaching?

That seems to be the only solution that is for sure.

Or go live in a place like Des Moines where they have a great poolhall where the people and players really respect other players health.

I'm not talking rights but just trying to stay alive and healthy.

I feel like a boxer out there that can duck any punch that can be thrown and then here comes the sucker punch when your not looking.

I'll be at Diamond Pub and Billiards today doing lessons.......

Working with a young lady named Katie. She doesn't know it but she is really capable of playing at a higher level given the right situation.

But for sure nomatter whatever she wants to do with her game it will take a huge leap today.

This is what was holding her back. With the little mini lesson we did about 3 days ago, when she moved her head and eyes to this Perfect position it was over. The cue and her almost perfect stroke just shot the ball in with ease.

I'm excited to work with her and get her totally on the right track.

Then I will be working with Richard again for a little tuneup.

I'll probably get a lesson set up for later tonight just by being there so long.

I'm only here in Louisville until this Friday so don't hesitate to call if you want to learn Perfect Aim first hand while I'm here.

I'm a lucky guy.

Each day I get up I say to myself.

I can't wait to get this day started and do something I really enjoy.

The ultimate NO SHOW..........

The toughest thing about being on the road is setting up a lesson with a player and they don't show up.

Here I stay an extra day in Louisville and pay an extra $70 for one day. I have a weekly rate on the room of $260, but one extra day is at the daily rate.

But the toughest part is being up late and getting up earlier than usual, less than 8 hours of sleep, and nobody shows up.

Now the whole day is kind of screwed up from not enough sleep especially if I want to play someone.

Not complaining but just trying to explain what happens to all the teachers that are traveling out there.

It might happen to me more because of the volume of lessons that I do. I don't really charge allot for what I teach so when I have a no show with an extra day of room and expences added on it kind of hurts.

Usually when this happens the person never answers their phone again either. Kind of rude.

Other than that things are going well. Leaving Louisville tomorrow and heading back to Indy.

They have a great tourny there on the 23rd and 24th of March.

If there is anyone in Cincy that I missed while there and they would like to learn Perfect Aim they can just call me and I will swing over there for a day or 2 before I go to Indy. 715-563-8712

Back in Indianapoilis until the 25th again........

They got a great tourny here at brickyard the 23rd and the 24th so I got over here early to see if I can get playing a little bit again.

I averaged maybe about 5 hours a week in the last 5 weeks. Not your typical, get ready for a tournament situation. And there will be some pretty good players there.

Last night I worked with a couple of players and some of the other players are even more interested in Perfect Aim because they are seeing the results from players that are using it.

It's kind of funny. Spend $1000 on a cue stick. $2000 to 5000 pool table in their basement but are afraid to spend $200 to learn something that is obviously helping everyone that has learned it.

This time back I will be teaching some of the guys that play at Brickyard regularly but thought they didn't need to know this or thought they could figure it out on their own.

It's so simple. just spend $200 on the lesson wirth the video and there is no more guessing about this or that. Know how the eyes work and how to correct the aim if it doesn't look right when you get down.

Many players, when they get down and the shot looks wrong get back up and get back down and then it looks right. They don't know what they did but it looks better now.

All they did was accidently get the eyes in the more correct position to envision the shot correctly.

If you were hunting and your food depended on it and the gun wasn't shooting straight you would fix it. With my little mini lessons now with Perfect Aim I show the player that their sight is off.

Then I tell them how to fix it. It's just $200. Not $300 or $400 or $500.

Only $200. I do this for the players out here as cheap as i can and still make enough money to keep going. . I feel by doing it cheaper i can show more players and I do to a certain extent.

It is really frustrating though, knowing how much I can help a player shoot so much better and they're afraid that they might be wasting $200.

I'm still doing the $100 guarantee. I will put a $100 bill in the players pocket. We start the Perfect Aim lesson. If it's not the best thing the player has ever seen since they have been playing pool in the first 15 minutes they can stop the lesson and keep the $100 bill.

How can a player not go for that. But many of them don't and won't.

I figured that would really increase the amount of lessons but it's kind of stayed the same. Still doing plenty but I could do so many more......

Oh well. Need to get down to Brickyard.

Had an incident at the motel I was at. Don't have time to tell the story right now. Just one of the bad things that can happen when your on the road.

Had to get out of the room and get another one.

I'll share that story tonight. Another good lesson learned.

Gene, you have already stated that it costs approx. $120 a day for expenses.

So, bottom line is you get to pocket $80 for the lesson and that is not much.

Made a motel mistake and paid for it.......

I got into indy and i thought i would get one of these smaller motels to stay at. I wouldn't save much money but I would cut down on the doors slamming and people with heavy feet walking in the room above me. The Value Places and Intown Suites are nutorious for this. You might not wake up all the way from these things but it might just take you out of that deep sleep.

Playing pool, teaching and traveling on the road you really need the sleep.

When I get to Indy they have some kind of convention going on. Go figure. All the rooms are gone in fact some of them have the prices jacked up.

I stopped at the Value place and they were even full up except for a few double rooms that you had to pay double price for. The convention will be over in a day or 2 and you can only get these rooms there for a week at a time.

I found a little motel on Washington st about a mile down from Brickyard billiards. I asked the young lady if i could look at the room and she didn't want to let me do that. She said she was the only one there. I guess her husband does most of this stuff.

Finally I gave her my ID. She gave me the key. And I was delighted to see that it was really smoke free. I had already looked at about 10 rooms that were terrible bad a smelly.

Then she told me that they had no weekly rooms available until tomorrow. So I had to pay the full price of $45 for one night and then when someone moved out of the weekly room tomorrow i could get one of those.

I got into the room and turned on the heat and went to the poolhall. About 3 hours later I came back and the heat was fine, In fact it was nice and warm when i came back.

I shut the heat off and loaded my stuff in the room. It takes me about 40 minutes to get set up and make it home even for one night. i'm not really looking forward to having to move to another room tomorrow but oh well.

I went to turn the heat back on and it wouldn't start up. I wiggled the plug and it would start and stop off and on. There was a bad connection with the plug. I tried to pull the plug but it was like stuck on there or hard wired or something.

Finally i put my cooled up against the cord and it stayed on.

It got warm again so i hopped into bed. I woke up about i hour later and it was just freezing in the room. I got up and wiggled the cord again and it started back up. Got it warmed up again and went back to bed.

This went on for about 4 times and I realized that when the heater turned off it just wasn't making a good enough connection to start back up again.

Finally i just got the long johns out and got under the covers and went to sleep.

I woke up to the phone ringing at 11:00 asking me if i was checking out. It's so cold in the room right now that my feet are hurting from the cold floor as I'm standing there. I told him I needed a heater so it would be warm enough in there to take a shower.

He told me to just wiggle the plug and it would be OK.

I was instantly pissed. This guy knew that the heater had trouble and just lets the customer deal with this problem. What an idiot.

I wiggled the cord and got it warm in there, took my shower, packed up and left feeling like I got kind of beat up. Not enough sleep for sure not to mention any trouble that I had from getting too cold. I think the temp got down to about 36 that night.

I went back over to the value Place and took one of those doubles that they had still and loaded my stuff up again. Went to Sams Club and got some much needed groceries and went to sleep.

Went back down to the poolhall and there was Bobby DickersonSr and he asked me to play. It was against my better judgement considering what I had just went through last night but I said OK.

We went back to the tight Diamond table and played 2 sets of 10 ball, races to 9.

I won the first one 9-8 and Bobby won the second one 9-8.

I shot better than I thought I would. I was down in Louisville for about a month. A couple of the poolhalls that I gave lessons in have decks that people go out and smoke on but they're enclosed so when they open the door to the no smoking room part the smoke just billows in like an Indian in the old days sending smoke signals. It was pretty bad.

I was there for about a month and was down for 2 weeks of that month just trying to get up enough energy to get going again. The smoke just does a number on evey aspect of your health. Even the other players I talk to say they feel like they got a hangover the next day and they don't even drink or smoke.

Sound familiar to anyone? help me out here.

Anyway, Brickyard is a great non smoking poolroom and the little enclosure for the smokers is over about 10 feet from the door so you don't have to wade through the smokers to get in there either.

My diet is helping me build up my endurance for the pool. I will be playing allot this week to try and get back in stroke. Bobby is coming back down tonight to play some more. Just what the Pool doctor ordered for me.

This is going to be a great tourny this weekend with a huge calcutta. Ray Big truck Hansen will be there for the streaming so you know he will beef things up and make it a winner all the way around.

Everyone should watch his streams a little and support what this guy is doing for pool. He really has a passion for the game.

You know how the old saying goes.

Got a nice surprise tonight when I checked my voicemail

I got a call from Mark C today. He wanted a followup lesson on Perfect aim and whatever else I could teach him.

This was allot of fun because Mark has so much passion for the game. We set up a time for tomorrow at 12:00 noon. About 10 minutes later Mark called me back and asked what I was doing tonight and I told him I was just going to start calling players that I talked to about 5 weeks ago that I hadn't worked with before I went to Cincy and then to Louisville..

He asked, could we just do it tonight. I said sure. I asked Mark if he had a table at home. he said yes. A beautiful diamond. I drove to Marks house and worked with him for about 4 hours.

I had to get him back on track with perfect Aim but once he had it right again the shots were going in pretty straight.

Some other things we went over are also going to be huge also.

Then I got back to the room and I got a massage from Ian Kc Kenzy. I had played him some the night before. We played cheap at the pool hall. He beat me the first set and I played pretty bad. He played pretty sporty. I Had a new tip put on a new shaft I'm starting to use.

After I lost the first set I asked ian if he wanted to double the bet. He said sure because I looked so helpless the first set. I didn't know If I'd play much better. When I said new shaft it was a whole different brand of shaft.

I beat him 2 in a row and it was obvious to him that he was in trouble if we played some more.

This kid has allot of talent though. The problem Ian had was classic Perfect Aim trouble. Everytime he missed it was cuts to the right. He made everything to the left. He is left eye dominant.

I gave him a Perfect Aim mini lesson at that time and he called me asking for a lesson as soon as possible.

This kid has some talent like I said. this is the start of a new champion for sure.
Once this kid figures this out it's over. i'd like to follow him around for about a month and take half his action.

I'm excited about helping this young man.

It don't get any better than this. For those of you that know how Perfect Aim works, I know you understand.

Played for the world championship with Mark c.....

I had allot of fun last night with Mark and was amazed at how quickly he jumped right back to shooting so straight with a little tuneup.

After a few quick shots i could see that he had drifted back to letting the left eye be a little dominant.

With a few quick adjustments and telling him to move a little he was right back on track.

After the lesson was pretty much over, having a little fun Mark said we're playing the next game for the world championship. I said we're on.

Mark won the flip. Lined up on the break and shattered the balls hitting them Perfect square. I saw the 9 ball go in the corner pocket, Mark did not. He was looking at how he was going to shoot at the one ball. Then he saw it.

The look on his face was priceless. We're all kids when it comes to this game of pool. He just drilled me with one great shot, a perfect break.

It was pretty cool. He's got one heck of a break now that he hits them so solidly.

I said to Mark. We got to play another one. that was too quick. Mark agreed.

I wanted to see how he responded to a little pressure with his aiming.

He broke the second game pockting a ball but had to push out. It was quite a battle. It's a diamond 9 footer and the pockets are not very generous. We played safeties back and forth and I finally pulled it off.

Now the pressure was really on for Mark. He has one shot at winning this world Championship and has to feel like the underdog here.

He was up to the challenge though.

He got the first real shot on the 3 ball. The cue ball was about 1 foot off the head rail with the 3 about 1 foot below the side with a slight angle. Mark hit the shot Perfectly drifting down just far enough to get shape on the 4 in the side. I was impressed. it was a tough shot to execute.

Ended up with the Perfect angle to get shape on the 5 down by the foot rail.

After shooting the 5 ball the cue ball ended up on the foot rail making the 6 a pretty difficult shot. Mark measured the angle with his perfect aim measurement and came up with 1/4th ball he had to hit. Got down and hit nothing but air.

Swish. As the cue ball rolled up to the other end for shape on the 7 ball.

Got a little bad on the 7 but again did his measurement and swish, another great shot.

But ended up kind of bad on the 8 ball. Played a great safe. I shot the bank and missed but got lucky on the leave hooking Mark behind the 9 ball.

He kicked getting a good hit leaving me with a long shot needing to get back down to the other end of the table to make the 9 ball.

I choked. Missed the 8 ball but again got lucky leaving Mark in another tough situation.

All this time I'm pulling for Mark but I'm not going to give in. I'm having fun watching him make these tough shots with what he has learned.

After a few more safes back and forth I finally won the game but not because Mark didn't shoot a great game.

I wish every tournament would be like this where you can actually hope that your opponent makes the shot.

Mark was very easy to teach with a quick understanding of Perfect Aim. But like with most players you can slip back to letting the non dominant eye work as the dominant eye a little so it's not a bad idea to do a little tuneup if possible a week or 2 after the original lesson.

He's also seeing Stan in a few days or a week I think and has already gotten a lesson a couple of weeks ago from Stan.

He's definitely seeking out one of the best teachers in the country there for sure.

Once Mark masters Pro One with Stan and make Perfect Aim a habit his game has got to take a huge leap in a quick hurry.

Being on the road 24/7, it's kind of nice to share someones home for a few hours.
