Mike Dechaine, where are you?

I have read with interest about many aiming systems and the comments that follow. I would love to hear from active, touring professionals what their opinion is about CTE, TOI etc. and, MORE IMPORTANT, what they do. Do they ever hit center ball?

I know I tried the video quick fix for awhile with limited results except for Buddy Hall and Gerry Watson. In the end the most improvement came from being more disciplined in my practice and increasing my practice time.

I think one of the best at being able to make any shot in front of him is Mike Dechaine and since I know he posts here from time to time maybe he would be kind enough to start us off with how he has become such a great shotmaker.

Why? So he can have half the nits on here put him down and call him a liar or say he's just backing cj wiley a fellow pro. The way the A-holes act on here I wouldn't give this forum the time of day. Ridiculous how we have some of the best players in the world try to give you there systems and we put them down for it..

I don't see how Mike would possibly feel welcome here. Not after that nasty blog was posted on here and 90 percent of this place jumped on the hate wagon

Why would he come here and talk about pool, so everyone can rip him a new one? Same reason all the pros stay away.

My guess is that most pros just go by natural feel...no system needed. I'd be interested in what Dechaine has to say though as long as he isn't trying to sell me something.

For real, if I was Mike I'd stay as far away from here as possible. Someone posts a stupid, elementary school blog degrading him and everyone here acts like it's the greatest, funniest thing they've ever read, not even thinking about speaking up for the guy. No respect.

Internet tough guys are laughable.

In real life I would bet money on not one of the guys that have spouted out of their mouth at Mike would say anything to him if they met him.

over an argument about a cell phone when he was playing the best player on the planet for money in front of everyone while being down real bad. This place crucified him.

I don't think you guys are giving Mike enough credit..... Pro pool players play pool.... The rest of us surf the net and post on the forums... Mike will likely be back on here when he has the time or the want to do so....

Despite the number of maroons that showed their true colors....

Chris

sad but true a lot of people act tough hiding behind a screen that would never even consider mouthing off in person

Dechaine is renowned for sharking. That is why Rodney Morris went ballistic on him one time. Marco Tschudi, a European pro if you didn't know, wrote about Dechaine sharking him in his blog. My father told me how Dechaine showed up at his pool hall and played a local pro...sharked him as well. He just puts people off by his behavior. His reputation precedes him. It puts a target on your back.

He's still very young though. And to say something nice about him, I do think he will be one of the all-time greats of pool when all is said and done.

That's not true, we have several pros that come on here when they need money to get to a tournament!

No doubt, where is the Hatchetman anyhow? Next time we will see him will likely be about a month before the Mosconi Cup if/when Matchroom are asking for votes and he will suddenly be AZB's BFF.

The pros who come here and act cool and actually act like part of the community and not above it looking down on all the peons do just fine here. Chris Bartrum comes to mind, he is a pro, and he is a active and respected AZB member.

<edit> I will add, I think "Mainplayer"/Mike Dechaine is a decent poster here, his thread where he called out Shaw got alot of stupid and uncalled for negative feedback. That is a match that I very much would actually like to see and any fan of pool on here should have been all for that becomming a reality as well.

Mike has a bit of a reputation and there ARE idiots here on AZB that turn into the AZB equivalent of an English fan at the Mosconi Cup when Earl walks into the room.

I have to agree, they all read this forum and they also see how I'm brutally attacked at times. It's not that big a deal to me, but they don't want to expose themselves to this type behavior.

They know if they come on here {like I have} and share their truth of how they play they will get the same type treatment. It's too bad, but it's life and there will always be 'the dark side" of things. The brighter the light, the more persistent the darkness to conceal it, this has been going on for thousands of years. This Forum is far from unique.

As far as the "big head thread" about Mike, that was just well disguised bullying on a level that was sickening. Mike will handle it, but I would like to see the table turned and see the reaction. Some can "dish it out," however, the same ones are very sensitive inside their own skin. 'The Game is the Teacher'

yup your right, sadly

Bullying

Maybe AZB can join the 21st century and adopt a zero tolerance policy towards bullying. What fun would that be?

If they did that, Mike would be out first for his "real life" behavior. He is proof that you get what you deserve. Most of the regular posters here are not dummies, when someone shows their ass, they don't get away with it.

I get that people joke WITH Mike about his head, but the intention of that blog was not to lovingly joke with him, it was to maliciously attack and hurt him. It wasn't just his melon that was attacked, it was his intellect, his ability, and his identity. Every sentence was dripping with spite.

If you look at the phycology behind hurtful and spiteful comments like that, you see that they are really statements about oneself.

shes stupid - Im smarter than her
hes ugly - Im more attractive than him
hes less - Im more

Humans behave for one of two reasons, walking toward something they like or walking away from something they don't like. When you put someone down your really just trying to put yourself up. Its crazy how many on here felt the need to do that. Maybe they get even a bigger kick out of it to do it to a pro. Makes them feel that much more ok with themselves.
