On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Unfortunate thing happened in my first match........

I'm on the stream table at Indy and I got into kind of a pickle.

My opponent is on the hill and I'm on 7.

I need to play kind of a touchy, feely, safe but I'm pretty confident I can do this successfully.

I need to hit the 6 ball with a little spin and go 2 small rails for the safe.

As I'm stroking the shot I notice someones ass in my face. The guy on the other side of me said he thought the guy hit me.

I got up and thought WTF and looked right at the guy. I thought he was playing a match and I can see where he can get so involved with what he was doing that he doesn't look out for the other guy.

About 30 seconds latter I see that he is just warming up for his match.

That corner of the table was the only corner that he could even get close to my table.

When players are warming up they need to be really careful that they are not interfering with a match. What they're doing there doesnt even matter.

it would have made it hill hill if I pull off the safe, but I like my chances. the kid I was playing had just dogged the game before.

Just venting a little but feel I got done real wrong here.

Because of someone elses unawareness.

Made the final 16.........

Now to get some sleep and be ready at 1:15.

Wouldn't you know it I would be at the bottom of the bracket and be the last match to play for the night.

Oh well.

More fun tomorrow...........

Hello Geno,
Go get them! Bring all the Bacon home. Play well my friend.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Hey Gene, hope all is well with you. Thank you for the kind words. I agree , if you lived close we would be friends and it would really cool to be able to practice with you.

If anybody is near you they would be silly to not take a lesson with you. There is so much you teach by phone and dvd but the real key is in person. You are a great teacher and have such an ability to notice things one on one that are invaluable.

I gotta admit that I had a hard time falling asleep friday night. My head was spinning with all you taught me.

From finding the left eye complete dominance to working on the break ( that was really cool getting the break to 'pop' ) and your patience helping me get those cuts to the left...finally

You gave me so much info I can't help but get better.

I'll keep updated to where you are and If you get closer to Pittsburgh I'll be sure to schedule with you again.

All the best to you Gene!

Nice shooting this weekend Geno! Ya caught some tough breaks here and there but it was a joy to watch you play as always.

Thanks for the help with my break, Ive always hit the break pretty square but now its even more solid and I am getting a lot more opportunities to run racks!

Be careful out there and hope to see you again soon.

Woody

I appreciate your and thank you......

It was a great tourny and I really learned something this weekend.

Most of the players that are in the tourny and play at a higher level were having trouble playing at that higher level on the second day.

I played way below my level and so did Chris in my final match.

I had a ball skid on an easy runout to tie the score up at 5-5. Instead the skid, and it was really horrible even Chris commented on it, left Chris with the rest of my easy run and I'm behind 6-4 now instead of being tied 5-5. This was a huge swing. I got to admit it kind of took the heart out of me.

The match never should have gotten to that point as I missed getting out on 3 fairly easy racks.

As I looked around I saw allot of the final 8 matches and I notice many of them were struggling. Missing shape and missing some shots.

The amount of energy that it takes is tremendous. It kind of drains everyone. Match after match on the final day with the body and mind on high burn. You better be in shape.

I'm working real hard to get this almost 60 year old body back in tip top shape. I had a few physical setbacks in the last 3 years but that is all behind me. But I seem to still be healing up.

I am a competitor and a pool player. I actually practiced for about 4 days for the tournament. it felt really good.

The guy that wins the tournament is the guy that can play at his higher level right to the end. Keep his focus and keep his thought making ability sharp. Never straying from the task at hand.

This eating thing that I am doing is working for sure. Some days i don't even need to take my medication and the blood sugar is right down to normal. Then some days it goes right up but i know I'm on the right track. I just need some more time to get things stabalized.

Last night I was so exausted after I was out of the tourny I kind of just passed out on the bed in the same position that I first laid down in. Before I laid down i ate plenty. When I woke up 2 hours later my blood sugar was normal. That almost seems like a miracle. My meds had wore off hours ago.

This is the secret to winning these tournaments everyone. Back in the 80's to around 95 I won many of the bar table tournys I played in. The secret there was exercise. I worked out with a friend that was a weight lifter. We actually had allot of fun doing it.

My main problem right now with working out is my injuries from a dislocated shoulder and surgery to repair it and the motorhome falling on me breaking some ribs, are still keeping me from working out regularly.

I hurt myself allot while trying to work out. And yes i know how to do it. The ribs, shoulder and trunk of my body must still be healing up. Hopefully this eating regiment will help. One less thing my immune system has to deal with.

But to anyone out there that wants to play at a higher level this is the key. Get that body in tip top shape. It will not only help you with the pool but it will help you tremendously in life.

With the help of some of our own AZers I am cutting out any products that are genetically modified or contain any Gluten.

I had bought some hamburger from Sam's Club and found out I was getting heart burn from it. I don't know for sure why that was happening but now that I have the bad things not going into my body I can tell when something just isn't right.

Even the sliced turkey that I got at Sam's club tasted kind of bad. 2 months ago it tasted good. What's up with that?

I went to the dentist once and I told him it only hurts when I eat candy. His answer was, Well than don't eat the candy. Don't do it. The same can be said with a food that you can tell is making you sick.

But unless you get your body so it is working pretty good you can't tell what is making you feel bad because you kind of feel bad all the time. it just feels normal to feel kind of bad.

They are really doing too many bad things to the food nowadays to make it's shelf life longer or kill the bugs by genetically altering produce so the insecticide is being produced right in the plant. We're eating the same food that is designed to kill the bugs. It makes sense that it just makes us sick. I'm sure they could also make it stronger to kill us also if they wanted too. How scary is this. Just enough poison to kill the bugs but not the people. Smaller mammals like rats and mice don't fare as well as humans. A little smaller. Guess what. Kids are smaller. Now that's scary.

I had already cut out allot of these things accidently by trying to eat healthier over the last 4 weeks but the last week I have cut out anything that is questionable. The results are kind of amazing.

My stomach is never getting the feeling like it is blowed up like a balloon. That bloated feeling. It's all gone. I think the same thing is happening with many people everywhere and they don't know it because they never heard of this problem with the food before.

Now i have to see if this will help my body heal so I can exercise and get back to this tip top shape. I'm not looking for miracles. i just want to win a tournament or 2.

I will be following tournaments in my travels teaching from now on. i am a pool player and that is why i play. i love to compete. This weekend got the blood flowing and brought out the competitor in me again.

Soon I myself will be seeking out sponsors and following the tournament trail and I will not be a disappointment to myself or anyone else.

Got 2 more pounds and allot of exercise before this would happen but it will.

I'm a pretty determined person.

When I wake up I think about pool. During the day I'm thinking about pool. And when I go to bed I dream about pool.

I must be a pool player like the rest of us out there.

Workout, eat right and play better pool.

And get a Perfect Aim lesson when I come to your town for sure.

A winning combination for sure.

One man a van and the road............

Don't give up hope......

I fig me and him would have played the 5 k match that we supp to play

Still healing up. Not really playing anyone for too much right now.

When i feel good enough to compete I guarantee you will be the first one I contact Mr Chris.

I'll be allot skinnier and in better shape.

If you don't recognize me then I'll be the one with the Perfect Aim shirt.

I enjoyed playing you in the tourny even though we both played under our abilities.

looking forward to this matchup down the line.

But not until I am fully healed up and ready.

Good luck and beat'em all..........

I would like to play but I don't think you will ever play me
Good luck to you as well

Geno, thanks for all the blogging you do on here. I find your entries to always be entertaining as you describe your life on the road. Keep it up!

I played 2 $5,000 sets in my life. I won both and was ready..

I would like to play but I don't think you will ever play me
Good luck to you as well

Many $1,000 and $2,000 sets.

I never played unless I knew I was in tip top shape and ready to go.

I had backers that were going to put up the money to play about 2 years ago but I wasn't in good enough shape to play. I treat their money like it was mine.

When I get to where I want with my health you'll know I'm ready because I will be playing for bigger money steady wherever I go.

At that point it will happen. And it will be with my own money or not at all.

I think it would be fun. A race to 50 or something like that.

I want this to happen. Can I get into shape? I hope so.

I'm doing the best I can right now to get there.

Just want to say thanks Gene for the excellent product and service. I learned a lot and can easily see that with practice, your ideas will crank my game up a notch or two. I very happy with the DVD and am glad I took advantage of the phone instruction. It's clear you love the game and love helping others improve. Thanks again and best wishes.

Thanks for calling........

I was glad to get your call. Now I had the opportunity to make sure you understood Perfect Aim, Perfectly and you can get the most from it.

Each and everytime I do this I can just feel the passion for the game on the other end of the phone. This game of ours just does something to us.

What a boring world this would be without pool?

It was fun working with you and going through it step by step.

Especially the measuring part of it. There is as far as I know a method as simple as this to figure out how much of the ball your going to hit.

This is a first and it's hidden in the final chapter of Perfect Aim.

Thanks again and good Luck......

"Chalk up" another satisfied customer

Gene,
Thanks much for taking the time to clear up a question I had from your dvd. In light of the fact that you already have a lot on your plate between your health, finances, business, travel and game, not to mention reporting on here, it meant a lot. You had nothing to gain, other than the satisfaction of knowing that another fellow player has been set on a path to improve their game by learning what you have figured out, and can explain so clearly. Good luck with your upcomong, expanded dvd. If you do make it to the Super Billiards Expo, I hope to shake your hand.

I'm not sure why you keep saying you will?

Chris you are being diplomatically ducked. And the reason is primarily because if he beats you then all the regular action dries up. You know this. Gene can go from town to town and play guys with a lot less speed than you for cheap and probably wins most of those encounters without the need to stall. People are happy to play him some and try him out. But if he takes you down then all that is gone because the wire then has the news that Gene beat Bartrum and the next question is how much weight can I get?

You can follow him around and try to bark up a game but you know it's not going to happen because you know the score in the pool world.

For Gene, and this is only my opinion, it's better to stick to the local guys who are good players but not world beaters and keep the sets light so no one gets hurt. That's the smarter play in his position as a traveling instruction salesman. Beating you won't get him any more lessons but it will definitely kill a lot of action.

You better leave Gene alone Chris he is playing jam up! He might surprise you!

I don't even want to play him even anymore it's not fair.
Ill come to where he is at and give him the 9 playing 10 ball wild on a 9ft table . He said he would bet 5 k. So ill put up 6 k to his 5 k .

What you said is true. And I play 2 balls better then him
So why does he say he will play me even for 5 k ?
We both know there are 100 guys who play under me who will play him even
