Just wanted to give a big shout out to TAR for the first night of TAR 32. What a great match! It has two quality players that act like gentlemen, and hope you all tune in to watch day 2! I think I have watched just about all but 5 or so matches and TAR continues to make improvements to their product. This is by no means a cut on anyone but thank goodness for Jeremy Jones. His commentary is absolutely jam up! Please keep this guy on the payroll.

Thanks again TAR,
A happy customer

Ronnie won tonight..... I believe it was 27 to 23. Shaw either had 22 or 23.

JJ rocks .... I dun wanna say anything bad about Ken Shuman but, for me, I'm glad they switched out the commentator after the break. It gave JJ more freedom to share his knowledge.

Also think this match on the previous tight pocket table might have been ...not as pleasant to watch. And watching this makes me realize how much better SVB breaks!!!

I loved the fast pace play of both (and almost wish Jayson would slow down on some shot). My money is on Jayson so I hope things turn around tomorrow!!!

Great match

This is a great match. Jayson will be world champ some day, not too long in the future.

I think the announcing distracted and took away from the play. The problem with a great player announcer is they can't help but talk about how they would do it. Many times they just talked right through amazing shots, or when a player dogged it. The announcers were oblivious. One other thing, it seems that a tried and true formula for announcing is to have one analytical or knowledgeable guy, and one color guy a la Dandy Don. They way you don't have two guys arguing about the best path to the ball while Ronnie goes 4 rails in a completely unexpected direction, while the announcers are still disputing in their own world, oblivious.

Still waiting for OMGWTF in the booth.

Great match!

Mel is often in the booth on the first sunday of the month Hard Times tourneys, broadcast LIVE!! BABY, on POVPool. Thanks Daniel and Barb (and Alvin).

Have to say I really liked the commentary and for me JJ adds great insight.

The only down side is I can't see it going to three nights!

CraigS

Can they pattern rack? I thought I heard one of the commentators last night saying that they could not pattern rack, it had to be random. I did not notice until the score was 22 to 22 that Ronnie was pattern the six and seven behind the one and the four and five beside the 10, and the eight and nine between the two and three.

Not sure about the patter racking..... I know they said that the two and three had to be in the corners. Just about post time for day two! Hope if you can tune in you will. I think day two will come down to the very end. Ronnie is the total package but this Shaw kid can shoot the eyes out of the ball!

Well put Chesscat! I always laugh when I see the shot that the player's about to shoot and the two commentators are arguing. It's quite amusing.

I think a great guy to have commentating would be Ignacio "mago" Chavez. Would be a great colorful view on matchs. Lmao!!!

Son of Pool

Calvin!! You got a passel of young 'uns now I bet.

Fantastic match last night. Fantastic. Jayson almost faded a world champion in pure stroke. Ronnie is Pool Genius!

Mago still very cool, will see him in the DF.

Best to you.

Was OMGWTF the girl who seemed to be glued to her cellphone the entire match?

For the record, she's said in the past she's texting score updates to people who cannot watch for whatever reason. Or maybe she's playing words with friends or fruit ninja, who knows lol.

You were right on! Is hill-hill close enough?

Great match!

What a thrilling match! After a little bit more seasoning I think the outcome of Day 2 would have been different. Once Mr. Shaw sharpens up his position play and safety game he is going to be a beast.

It was an absolute pleasure to watch both of these gentlemen play and was very refreshing to have them both act like gentlemen before, during and after the match. I have been a fan of Ronnie's for a while and now I am definitely a fan of Jayson's.

And just think we have two more all around matches coming up with arguably the 4 greatest players in the world today! TAR is on fire.
