What is the most powerful shot?

Mental dsability?! The guy in the video wasn't me. Also, "right way" is a very relative term. Breaking on a barbox with crazy power is the right way. Breaking with high precision on a 9ft in a tournament is also the right way. Get it?

I'm primarily a barbox player. I don't come on the forum and ask assinine questions that even an APA 2 knows the answers to. The "right way" is not a "relative term". There's the right way to do things and then there's the way that you suggest or ask about doing them. Get it?

Go watch your hometown pro in Yvgumito or where ever you claim to be from and let us know how many turns at the table it takes for him to win.. 10? 20? If you didn't insist on asking stupid questions, you wouldn't get treated like an idiot.

Look at the combined amount of years those of us have as members of this forum. Maybe we should be wise enough to not waste our time. And I do mean wasting. He obviously has no intentions of taking any of this to heart. It's too bad, there is a lot of good info here. And good people who truly want to help and see beginners succeed. I'm out.

Many of us recognize this for what it is, PK's way of having fun. He is just messing with the forum, and that's cool, so long as we all know it going into any particular thread. Once you have that realization, it's amusing.

Funny what make people happy. this stuff apparently makes PK happy, cuz he keeps on, keeping on. It is a good show, he's keeping this online character consistent this time.

Push&pool, I had hope for you but I'm slowly learning it was wasted... From now on I will be referring to you as Gomer Pyle. I'm sorry you don't realize this is a finesse game and not about power. I feel like a lot of knowledgeable players have given you good advice that you just don't want to listen to. And that's your choice. Bang on buddy, that's as far as you'll ever get.

I know it's a finesse game, but at my level not that much. Power did a lot of the job for me against any opponent I ever played. That's why I'm asking for advice regarding power.

And this is why the rest of us call him Poolkiller, author of the Manifesto, he who favors The Ram Shot. :D

But no, I'm all wrong. Couldn't possibly be the same person.

I'm not gonna argue about this again, but if I wanted the ram shot, I wouldn't be here asking for a good way to shoot max power

No.

Breaking clusters is about control, not KABLAMO! Combinations/plants are also played with control as you need to pot a ball, keep the intermediary ball near the pocket and have the CB stay in line for the next shot. Bank shots are extremely sensitive to the speed at which you hit them, allowing you to either shorten or lengthen the angle without using side.

I also have my reasons for thinking that too. I'm fine with it being him (again) but I wish he would learn at some point that people have tried to help. If he refuses to learn anything, well, what can you do...

I'm more than willing to learn, but you keep giving me advice about precision, which reduces the power of my shots :/

It doesn't matter that help was offered, he doesn't really want it. That's the point of his threads/posts. Avoids answering questions that would clear things up but that's not the point. He says just enough to appear clueless.

You admittedly can't make a ball to save your life. What's the point of getting 'max power' when you don't even know which end of the cue to hold?

whats its worth

When I started playing pool I loved power shots, I use to shoot every ball as hard I could because that's the only way I knew how to make those shots. It was very difficult for me to make a ball with such a speed that it would just roll into the pocket.
IMO when a player keeps shooting a shot at a certain speed it becomes a part of "muscle memory", so if you are used to shooting shots with power stroke, your "muscle memory" don't know how to make that shot with a slower speed which makes you think that "Power shots are helping you to play better" because you are making them with a power stroke.
Now, I won't go into saying that this is good or bad. It's up to you what you make out of this "habbit".

It seems like you want to know who to develop a power stroke ? I am no instructor but I think a lot of it that comes into play when executing a power stroke is "momentum". Look at this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59amcNEN0Tg) and listen to what is being said as the video plays. The shot that Mike is executing is even too difficult for most pro players.

Executing power shots is a special ability but you don't need it to be a very good pool player. There is no magic bullet to learn how to have a "power stroke", and I think to do them requires "strong fundamentals" and a better understanding of how to focus you momentum during your stroke. I don't want be rude but its like you enjoy "go karting" and you are here to learn some magic "tip/trick" on how to be a "F1 race car" driver. (I say this because you don't really seem to care about "precision" and you say your "level is not that much").

Wait......what ?

Why would you ask for help with something you do well ?

Typically one asks for help with things they do poorly, like oh I don't know, Precision in your case.

Oh but wait.....you don't want help with that.

Man I'm lost....where my copy of the manifesto , I've gotta read that all over again.

You know what Pushpool, I have seriously misjudged you. I just realized that you really do know a thing or two about pool. It took me a while to see it but it finally clicked in my head today. I have decided that you alone are worthy of the pool secret that has been handed down to me from none other than the master himself, Mr. Mosconi.

In his will he gave me the secret to hitting the ball so hard it would make the incredible hulks testicles shrink in disbelief. PM me and I will send you the address for my paypal account so that you can have this valuable information for a one time easy payment of $99.99. I have only given this info to one other person and he has selfishly used it for his own personal gain. ( his initials are SVB, maybe you have heard of him?)

But I can tell you are a person of honor and wouldn't do such a thing. I only ask that you give me a small credit in your Bar Pool book.

Don't be giving away the secret; he hasn't completed his induction & hazing yet. I'll be back in a while after I find the perfect goat for the sacrifice.

This is like going on an archery forum and asking how to shoot the arrows faster.

See what?? Again, there is nothing to see. You don't make any sense, you ask for information on something that will be of no use to you and when questioned as to why you want it, you reply with nonsense.
PoolKiller, indeed!

Yeah my level isn't especially high but I'm not planning to advance very much, at least for now. I don't have the time to play and practise enough. My skills are just fine for our barbox standards, I only wanted to add a little something to my arsenal :)

I do well with power shots, but I want to do even better. Precision will come back to me when I start playing regularly again, but I feel like I reached my power limit, so I'm searching for a new technique to increase the power of my shots even further.

No use to me? I wouldn't be asking this if it was useless. I'm sorry but I don't understand you. What kind of other explanation do you need?

There is *nothing* we can teach you about smashing the phenolic out of the balls. We aren't goofing around on the table, we're competing and winning.

Even the break shot is controlled.

A while back you posted this in a thread;

Guys I've had this idea for some time. I'm not sure if I'll have enough time and ideas, but if one day I get some crazy inspiration, I'd like to know if people here would find it useful. I know there are many bar players here, and since I joined, I kinda felt bar pool is somewhat underestimated and underrated on this forum comparing to pool hall matches and larger tournaments. I've always considered bar pool a very speacial and unique way of playing which deserves its own forum or at least a seperate section, but many members didn't agree with me. So I thought this would be a great way to both help and promote bar play. I'm not a great pool expert so I doubt most of the things I could teach would be useful to pool hall players, especially if they only play by BCA rules. However, if you want to learn a good basis to do well in bars with some bar rulesets and also APA rules, I could help with teaching you most of the stuff you need to know. We could work on the very basics of the game, or, if necessary, I could also give you some advice for correcting your playing style and tactics in order to make you a better player. Anyway, if I find enough time in the future, I'd enjoy spreading "bar wisdom" here on AZB, so please tell me if you're interested to hear some lessons and debates

I was wondering, did anyone take you up on your offer?
