Recently had a GC II setup at home, with brand new Simonis felt. Ive noticed two issues recently while playing. First, the table seems to play very slow, and the cue ball acts more lively off different rails. Second, on the bottom 2 corner pockets (closer to the headstring) anything hit with speed has a tendency to hang up. Obviously for the speed issue, Im assuming its the cushions that need to be replaced. Is there anyway to tell whats on there now without removing the rails and cloth? What needs to be done to correct the corner pocket issues? Ive already priced some Artemis cushions and see they run about $360, what is the average price for installing them? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Seems like somebody has put soft facings I the cushions, causing the angle to change when the ball hits the facing forcing it to Jaw instead of falling into the pocket. If you like the table, and plan on keeping it a while I would pick one of the mechanics off of here to redo the rails. Since your in Texas, Shane Johnson comes to mind. I had SDbilliards redo the rails on my 8' GC II. He put new artemis rubber on and tighened them up to 4 1/2". I am very pleased with the way things turned out!

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I like the table and plan on keeping it for a very long time. It is in excellent condition for its age, I just wanna fix these 2 issues on it. Does anyone have contact number for Shane? I had it on my old phone, but since have lost it.
