Question for TAR Re: Efren vs. Shane for Justin/Mark

Not trying to get into what isn't mine or anybody else's business as a financial success of that match, curious to know whether that match had the most PPV subscribers as that was the match all of us were waiting for..and turned out to be epic (especially the 1 pocket) I guess if you answer that it was the largest amount of subscribers then it would mean the most $ as well..not 100% sure as you can buy the 3 day package or 1 discipline if you only wanted 1 pocket or 10 ball. Just wanted to know if the pool subscribers went for this matchup more than any previous ones you guys put out.

If the answer is none of my business I get it.
 
I'd like to know also, maybe post a most watched/least watched list, don't need the numbers for us (unless Justin does not care if we know details). We can easily see the podcast watch #s on YouTube, do those number correspond to how well "attended" the actual match was?

I would guess that the Shane/Efren match was in the top few.
 
Just guessing it had to be the top match-most viewers, or real real close to it. It was among the best ever, there was a Alex/SVB one that was real good too. All of them have been good, never a bad match, some one sided ones but still great pool.

Yeah, I'd love to know that TAR is sustaining itself. Maybe instead of actual count, just give it in percentages based on the upper/lower limits of the numbers or something.

I really wanna believe that #34 was off the charts, but that's being a little over-optimistic, probably.

I'm sure they're doing all sort of analytics on the TAR matches from the last two weeks... peak hours, replay viewings, format numbers, etc.

Whatever the numbers are, I hope they're all in the green. :)

As much as I would like to see a top 10 like I said before..I really think that the Reyes SVB matchup had to be the best seller..I think by far, just curious to know if I could get that confirmed with just a yes or no..not looking to get deep into another companies finances/operations.
 
I watched all three days. One of the days either Justin or Ken or Mark, I forgot who, said it was by far their most successful match ever.

It was a great match. If you didn't get a chance to watch it live the Vimeo ppv download should definitely be on your list. I might get the download myself even though I saw the match live.

I didnt get the 1 pocket which turned out to be epic from what I read..i'm not a 1 pocket fan at all but i'm gonna get it just from the description of the match that I read here on AZB..sounds like one of the best 1 hole matches ever.

It was definitely a great one hole match
 
Shane/Efren was the best one yet. If we could do that every time it would open up a lot of possibilities.

Busty/Alex surprised me in that we basically broke even after all expenses. I'm not sure why that is. Some have said its because there was no "bad guy" or real story line other than two great players playing. I think some people probably waited for SVB/Efren and didnt buy TAR 33. Its hard to watch pool for two weekends in a row and $70-$90 in one month is a lot for streaming PPV in one month.

For the next month I am focusing on getting the VOD set up so people can see the past matches and provide a steady income to offset the monthly nut of the studio. The Vimeo platform is working well on the SVB instructional and the revenue split is good.

Most of our best matches money wise have had Shane in them. So while there is some people who say they are tired of seeing him the numbers say they are in the minority. The SVB/Dechaine match did above average and I think that was due to the Facebook buzz and Mike channeling Chael Sonnen a little bit. Mike and I have had our differences but I give him props for being able to push a match.

What TAR needs is a few more sponsors, a working VOD platform, pumping up the YouTube channel and getting a viable merchandise program running. All are on the list for this summer. I have all the pieces in place for all of them its just a matter of details and getting things done now.

The only reason it has lasted this long is all of the people who have supported TAR over the years by buying matches and Mark being able to cover the nut when things don't add up at the end of the month. Mark doesn't trumpet all he does for pool but I assure you nothing TAR has done the last few years would have happened if it wasn't for him.

The nature of live events is feast or famine so the goal is to smooth things out with steady streams of income. Before last weekend I was wondering if it just wasn't possible to keep it going but last weekend showed the market is there I just have to find a way to get it.

Sounds like a great plan JCIN -- multiple streams of income (video, merch, PPV (w/ sponsor support) ... I am hoping only the best for TAR... and for Brandon Shuff (at some point) to join in the fun.. one of the few American Players willing to represent.... :wave:

That sounds great Justin. I really hope great things happen for you guys. You have great, clear streams. Looking forward to the VOD and I would purchase some merchandise when you get the store running again. Thanks for all you do. BTW, I would love to see an Alex/Dennis match if you could ever get that to happen.

You're right about finding a "bad guy", if there is someone that people want to see loose, or win really badly, or if they had players in the match they knew.

For example, in the N.E. area any Dechaine match would be hot because he's from there (people who like him AND those that want to see him beat LOL).

I want to see players on TAR that really want to gut each other, or at least that would be betting their own money against each other in any other venue.

Wonder if Earl would play Dechaine and vice versa. Or Hatch vs Dechaine again, that re-run would be pretty hot, it seems those two do not like each other much.

A couple of questions for the VoD:

(1) Will it be possible to pause the match and restart it? I work long night shifts and these are the times that I would get the stream, but it is punctuated with shorts periods of actual work and I would hate to miss chunks of the match.

(2) If we purchase the stream will it be accessible forever or only for a limited time?

(3) Are DVDs officially over?

That Dechaine/Hatch match was one of the rarities I didn't get to witness unfortunately, I think I was out of town that weekend. *shrug* I can't wait for that match to go up on VOD - I'm totally getting it. :)

And even though I did buy the weekend for Shane/Effren - I would absolutely get the VOD! Maybe in a few months, just as a refresher. That's how G**D*** good that match was.
 
JCIN, I applaud your transparency. You're a rare bird in this chaotic zoo.

BTW, I will be in Vegas next week and again late July for business. So I am available for a TAR match then in event you want to push revenues (into a spiral). :grin-square:

I saw where Justin was purchasing some very rare screws for one of his rifles/guns, so I know he is getting PHAT off of the TAR shows.

The TAR matches are some of the best gambling/exhibition matches around for sure.

Glad this last match renewed your thought in TAR being something doable. I think going to VOD will be big and IMO can open loads of other possibilities.

VOD instructionals in my head seem like a no brainer. I know there have been quite a few matches that I would have gotten but I wasn't going to be home enough to view even with the loop. VOD is a great option for me.

Hope everything works out and is there plans for any more tshirts and other merch?
